Pet care experience
I have been dog-sitting professionally around the Kalamazoo area for over three years, and have helped care for my own and my family's dogs for my entire life. I can administer basic medication (pills, eye drops, ear drops) and am quick to act in an emergency. I am good at interpreting dog body language accurately and can adjust care to meet a specific animal's needs, whether they have been previously abused, are shy or aggressive, etc.

Sara is a wonderful dog sitter. My dog, Charlie, loves her. She is very reliable. I can relax and enjoy myself when she is sitting Charlie knowing that he is receiving the best care from her. Lots of love too! I highly recommend her!
Sara has provided care for our dog and cat for about three years (since we've had our dog). She is wonderful with the animals and the dog especially loves her. Whenever she comes over, the dog is all about playing and spending time with her. Sara is reliable, trustworthy and easily connects with the animals she is watching. I have referred her to other friends and we all have had the same excellent experience. I definitely recommend her to others needing pet care.
I have worked with Sara for over a year. She has watched my dog when I go out of town and also walks him when I work long hours. When I was looking for a dog sitter, I was very nervous because 1) my dog is my fur child 2) he has some special needs. I have a 3 year old pit mix that acts like a 3 month old puppy (very energetic with not the best manners). He is a rescue and I worry whenever I have to go out of town since he was abandoned before. Sara does wonderful with him. It is clear she has been around dogs a lot and knows how to handle them. She is flexible, caring, does whatever she can to make him comfortable. She has been reliable and flexible with my schedule. When I work long hours, it gives me peace of mind to know Sara stops by and walks him. I notice a difference in my dog when I get home; he is much more calm and happy. It is much more convenient than taking him to doggy day care. I highly recommend Sara!

It's important for me to know any medical conditions that your dog may have, including any emotional of physical abuse they may have encountered. It is also very helpful for me to know how your dog generally reacts to other dogs (male/female, fixed/intact, on/off leash), to strangers, and to children. I may have personal preferences about what dogs I think are the cutest, but I sincerely believe that all dogs are cute in their own way, be it physical or otherwise, and regardless of perceived cuteness, they have every right to be loved and cared for!
A typical day
I love to play with dogs! We can play fetch (if your dog knows how), we can play with dog toys, we can even wrestle (depending on your dog's size, energy level, and nail length)! Usually we will just take a long walk around your neighborhood, but we can also travel to a nearby dog park or other place if you would prefer.
