Special Needs? Loving care for all!

Pet care experience

Having traveled extensively in my career I know the stressful effect of leaving your pups both on you and them. I recently moved to Melbourne to be close to my two sons and my grandchildren and love the area. Retired now and love being home all day with my little 6 year old Cavachon Lexi. My two Italian Greyhounds, Prince and Spike have crossed the Rainbow Bridge at a very old age and both had special needs. I had one that had diabetes and one with CHF so I am experienced in insulin injections, monitoring for hypoglycemia and the need for scheduled feedings and medication. My Affenpinscher Bubbie crossed the Rainbow bridge two summers ago at 16. He was my accidental puppy! A rescue no one wanted. So now its just me and Lexi and we would love to have some new doggy friends. Lexi is a sweet temepered little girland does well with all the pets that stay with us.I have a doggy safe house with a fenced yard and they can snuggle in bed with us as well! We would love to have you come stay and play! Why I love dog sitting I have loved and had dogs most all of my life. I had a Dalmation and Beagle many years ago. I had my two beautiful Italian Greyhounds Spike and Prince and my sweet Affenpinscher Bubbie. They have all crossed the rainbow bridge so now its just me and Lexi. I was a Rover sitter in Texas for many years and made so many wonderful friends, furry and two legged :) They became part of my family. I was honored to provide hospice care for several senior pups who I had taken care of for a long time, giving meds, injections and loving care when their families had to work. I was honored to do this for them and was invited by several of the families to be with them when it was "our" sweet babies time to cross the Rainbow Bridge. Although now in Florida I still stay in touch with many of my Rover pet families. About my home here in Florida. I downsized somewhat and have a lovely townhouse with a completely fenced back yard with grass. My house is puppy safe with LVT flooring, accidents don't upset me at all. I have the upstairs gated off so Lexi and your pups can't wander up stairs! I have plenty of room for playing with toys or if the zoomies should strike! I never leave Lexi or our Rover pups outside by themselves. Always with them during potty break or while they enjoy the sunshine. My experience administering medication I have experience in administering all types of medications from eye drops, injections, pills etc. I had a diabetic dog who received two injections a day and I do BG monitoring. If your pet has special needs please be prepared to go over all medications, symptoms and conditions to ensure their visit goes well for them.

Sandy was awesome! We are new to the area and were lucky to find someone so close to us. Our three dogs can be a handful and we don't trust them with just anyone. Sandy kept us updated on them and sent pictures. It really helped for us to be able to relax and enjoy our trip. I would highly recommend her...she had no problem giving medicine, dealing with our difficult mealtime issues, and fortunately was experienced enough to know what to do when our dogs started fighting among themselves. They are a challenging bunch and she handled them like a pro!! So glad we found Sandy!
