Home Full Time with a Fenced Yard!

Pet care experience

I’m Sandy and I love dogs! Because I’m home full-time, I can offer my loving care to every dog, anytime! My experience with animals has been life-long and I'm committed to learning and mastering everything I can about them. Growing up, my mom cared for rescue and foster dogs and I think it's a great way to live. I loved all the dogs and worked hard to care for them. It inspired me to work with "difficult" dogs. Currently, I have one pup of my own, Luke. He’s a seven year old English Shepherd who I rescued. It’s been great getting to know his unique personality and sweet nature. In addition to my personal experience with dogs, I’m certified as an Obedience Instructor, can perform CPR and First Aid, and trained as a bather and as an animal massage therapist. I was the boarding and daycare manager for a luxury pet resort in Nashville and am highly educated in dog care on both a personal and professional level. I can do all oral medications successfully and I'm comfortable handling special needs including insulin, collapsing trachea, collapsing esophagus, paralysis, and behavior issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and more! From my own pets to foster dogs and cats (up to eight at a time) to my years managing a hectic, high-end pet resort, I'm confident in my ability to handle any situation or temperament safely and with kindness. Positive reinforcement absolutely works and I support and implement that philosophy with all my furbabies. I also know how hard it is to be away from your furry loved one so owners will love my extensive knowledge of dogs and their behavior. I’m stable, predictable, trustworthy, and always keep my word. My furry clients will love that I give cuddles, walks, and treats aplenty and am always looking for a snuggle buddy. I live in a wonderful home in the Smyrna area outside Nashville with my husband and 15-year-old. Though I’ll be the primary caregiver for your furry friends, they’ll be around to shower love and affection, as well as offer potty-breaks and tasty treats. Our home is cozy, clean, and perfect for pups. Your dog will surely find a great place to cuddle up, nap, and play. We have a fenced-in backyard which means easy-access to trees, squirrels, and room to run, all in a safe yard. Our neighborhood is dog and family-friendly with lots of huge trees and greenery that pups will enjoy. We live a few miles away from several great parks that have access to trails and a creek as well as nearby that my own pets have loved to experience, and your pup will too. When I’m not pet sitting, I enjoy reading and spending time with my family and friends. Reading about animal behavior is one of my favorite hobbies so I’ll be sure to take that knowledge and experience into the care of your dog! LBGTQ friendly.

Sandy is absolutely great! I knew a few minutes after meeting her during the Meet & Greet that my girl, Freedom, would receive excellent care. I was away for four nights and it was comforting to know that Freedom was in such good hands. Sandy responded quickly to my messages and made me feel at ease. Freedom will definitely be back! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Very happy with Sandy's care of Daisy while we were on quick vacation. Daisy came back much better behaved after her stay; we certainly appreciate that! Sandy also gave us useful suggestions on training her not to jump on people.

Sandy has taken care of our dog two times now. Our dog comes home in better spirits then when we have had to put her in a kennel.

Information Sandy S. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed preferences; I love dogs of every size, shape and temperament. I would be happy to set up a meet and greet prior to a stay so we can get to know one another! I also like to know about your dog’s personality, habits, and any preferences they have (for food, toys, and otherwise).

A typical day

On a stay with me, your pup will be happy and safe. I love taking walks and there are great trails, parks, and routes we can take near my home. We will also spend time cuddling and playing in my fenced-in backyard. I also include a paw wash and 15-minute brush out for all daycare/boarding clients before leaving. Whatever your pup needs for a healthy and fun stay, I’ll provide it! In addition to getting our exercise in with walks, we can play with toys, practice massage techniques, brush our hair and go to the park. I'm home full-time so all my attention would be on the pups. We can run around the backyard and chase squirrels. I generally don't leave my house except to get my daughter to and from school so your pup would always be supervised and safe!
