Pet care experience

(Subject to change during Covid shelter in place) I offer boarding for dogs under about 20 pounds. I offer visits of all size dogs, cats, and some exotic animals, to your home and potty break walks. I have been a volunteer dog trainer, behavior helpline volunteer, kennel and foster volunteer. I have enjoyed pets all my life. I teach dogs to have good manners indoors because I believe pets are part of the family. I do have a medium size back yard and large dog run for exercise. I have teenage children that have been raised to respect animals. My furry kids include a 3 year old King Charles Spaniel, a 4 year old terrier, and one cat. About this sitter: Hi! I am a long time animal lover. I have spent many years volunteering for various rescues and shelters. Currently I foster both dogs and cats occasionally for area rescues. I taught dog obedience for two years, and also worked on an animal behavior helpline. I would love to help the families of furry friends feel confident that their critters are in good hands while they are away. Why I love dog sitting I've always had dogs in my life. I helped my parents train their dogs for competition obedience. Later I had dogs of my own. I became a volunteer obedience trainer, groomer, and dog walker/socializer for animals in local animal shelters. I have also been a foster for area rescues for the last 2 years. I have been a pet sitter for at least 10 years. About my yard I have a fenced back yard and a large dog run. The yard is grassy, and the dog run is gravel and bark chips. I have a great neighborhood for walks, and a dog park nearby if that is wanted by the client.

Sandy kept our pets healthy and happy while we were gone. She was able to communicate any issues with us and get them resolved.

Sandy was very accomodating to meet our pet Bo's needs. She sent us a couple of pictures with messages and he was smiling. When the time comes again we plan to use her.

Thanks to Sandy, I had peace of mind and comfort while I traveled. She kept me informed with text and photo and left notes for me to read when I got home. I could also tell that she communicated with the other dog sitter. Also, I chose Sandy to care for my dogs because she has experience with fostering dogs and that made me feel like she could attend to the new dog that we had just rescued 6 weeks ago. I thought she would be tuned in to the dynamic between the old dog and the new dog. I also felt comfortable with her personality when we had a meet and greet. She is a warm person and clearly my dogs liked her right away. Dogs know which people are kind people!

How they get along with other dogs on leash and in the home. How are they with cats and children? I have no breed preferences, I like them all!

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks There is a path and a quiet neighborhood and park nearby. Your dog's sleeping arrangement I usually crate the dogs in my home, but I have been known to take one (or two!) to bed with me. Time I'll spend with your dog My walks on visits are usually 30 minutes. I can also add time for play in the yard during visits. For pets in my home, I have much of the day available. I am in and out all day. I'm usually only away for a maximum of 3 hours at a time.
