I love dogs! The world would be a lonely place without them. I have been caring for dogs for over 50 years, (yes I started as a child) I love all their personalities, shapes and sizes. I understand them and will see that their needs are met with awareness and kindness. I adopted a 26 pound Heinz 57/terrior mix. He loves to play with other dogs. My home is comfortable and I walk my dogs every day, early morning and evening for about a half hour around the neighborhood, or we can go to a dog park for more exercise usually at dusk a..in the warmer temps. Indoor playtime at home includes: indoor Play ball - mid morning and mid afternoon, chew the bone, tummy rubs and ear scratches as needed, and Tricks for Treats. I can provide transportation to an appointment or a vet in case of an emergency. Before covid I offered dogsitting at your home, now I'm home all day and I no longer offer this service. I usually do not sit for more than one or two dogs at a time unless they come from the same family. I do not sit for puppies under 1 year old in my home. NOTE: Pick up and drop off hours are 7:00 am to 8:00 pm I also offer: Bathing, additional walks, care for elderly or disabled dogs, and insulin shots for diabetic dogs. Sandra was great as always. Very helpful and understanding of our travel issues. Unfortunately Bailey was transitioning with new healthier food while I was gone and had many accidents at Sandra’s home. Sandra explained this upon arrival and this was a mistake on my behalf as Bailey has been potty trained but was accident prone with the new food. Will make sure this is ironed out going forward. Thanks Sandra!
Sandra was very warm and welcoming. Her backyard was large and secure with a doggy door. It was nice to leave town and not worry about my dog knowing he was being well cared for. I was running late on the way there and she was very understanding.
Sandra took great care of Yuki. It was great that I did not have to worry about Yuki while I was gone. Yuki enjoyed her walks and the stay!
Sandra was very attentive to Zaria and kept her very active with several walks each day!

Bathing - I use no tears shampoo and a tub of warm water. Care for elderly or disabled dogs is extra TLC and affection. I find elderly dogs to be the sweetest of all. I am able to give insulin shots for diabetic dogs. I was a certified nurses assistant for people for about 10 years.

I love all breeds, but prefer to sit for 25 lb and larger dogs. I find larger dogs have a different, more easy going mentality than smaller lap dogs.
A typical day
We get up just before sunrise and get ready for our 45-minute walk around the neighborhood. There are no through traffic roads by my home. Then we come home and have breakfast. We go in and outdoors throughout the day. My backyard is completely enclosed with cinderblock and iron rail fencing. Treats are provide for hand shakes throughout the day. I serve dinner at 5:00 and then we go for our half hour evening walk after that.

My only employment is dog sitting so I am home all day every day except for short errands now and then. I feel dogs are like children they need some supervision but they also need some freedom.
