Pet care experience
I've had family cats and dogs since I was a kid. Now in a house of my own, I have two cats that I love and care for dearly. I have been a volunteer at the Hamilton Township Animal Shelter since November 2021 where I walk and socialize dogs, as well as play and socialize the cats in the cat room. I have experience with all dogs small to large and of varying temperments as part of my volunteer work at the shelter. I also took a dog behavioral course as part of that volunteer training. I recently learned how to administer subcutaneous fluids at the Princeton Animal Hospital for my older cat Norby who recently passed. Overall, I just really love everything about cats and dogs! They are family and I will treat your pets as such and make sure they get everything they need while in my care.

My little guy seems to really take to Sammi’s gentle and genuine demeanor. Her end-of-visit reports are my favorite. I like to see the update and know specifically how he did on each visit.
Sammi is incredible attentive and responsive. Her feedback for each visit gives me such comfort. Knowing that she takes the extra time let me know how things are going makes a statement about how much she cares and is quite the professional.

I will respect any care needs you have for your pets. I feed my cats both wet and dry food daily and can also administer medication both orally and subcutaneously as needed.

I will want to know their dietary needs and current levels of activity so I can make sure they’re getting enough exercise but not too much that would put an unnecessary strain on the dog. I would also like to know their temperament and how they react with treats, toys, other dogs, and people so I can properly manage those situations as they come up.
A typical day
I love to get dogs moving by taking fast paced walks (depending on the weather and what they can handle) as well as playing and keeping their attention with training practice and owner approved treats.

Availability
I work from home most days of the week so I can accommodate midday drop-ins or walks for your pets. I like to stay active so I can handle long walks or hikes with energetic dogs or leisurely walked with older or smaller dogs.
