My name is Samantha, and I'm a recent graduate of Cornell University, where I studied Animal Science and Neurobiology & Behavior. As an undergraduate, I worked on a research project at the local animal shelter studying canine behavior, with the goal of improving experiences and outcomes for shelter dogs that came in showing food or possession aggression. Thus, I have extensive experience studying and working with dogs in a formal setting. That said, what drew me to this project was a deep and lifelong love for animals, especially dogs. I'm one of those people that is late to a coffee date because I had to stop 7 separate times to pet every dog I saw along the way. Friends trust me to look after, walk, and pet-sit their dogs, knowing I'm a responsible and extremely kind dog lover and carer. Currently, I'm self-employed, part-time, as a horse trainer, and I have a horse of my own - a rescue, with special needs. This means I have experience with behavioral rehabilitation and administering medications to animals. It also means I am enthusiastic and serious about catering exactly to the requests of the owner, whatever they may be. I understand the importance of knowing our beloved animals are in good and trusted hands.
