✨Patient Animal Companion✨

Pet care experience

I know a variety of things about animals and I can do special instructions and dietary needs. I follow the given instructions and I'm easy to contact 24/7. I provide a friendly experience for all dogs, big and small, by giving toys, treats, love, and all the walks a dog could need! I've had dogs my entire life and I've watched over plenty of family and family friend dogs. Picking them up from any location and staying at their home to care for them in an environment they can feel comfortable in. I can also care for cats, reptiles, horses, and small pets. You ask me what I can do and how to do and I will with my whole heart at it!

Samantha is great with Cosmo! She’s very friendly and personable. Cosmo is enjoying his walks, and happy and relaxed after his walk.

We hired Sam as a house sitter and she did everything she promised to! She was super communicative and we arrived home to three happy dogs and a house just as we left it. We also really appreciated that she texted a video of the dogs when she arrived. Would trust her with our home and fur babies again.

Safety, trust & environment

Nothing is more important to me and your animals than having a loving, comforting, and safe environment. It's my top priority to provide that for them, it helps me build a better relationship with them and them a better relationship with me. Walks will always meet your pet's needs, tell what they need and where they like to go and I'll be more than happy to provide it and go beyond. House-sitting will be a wonderful time for both of us, and your house will be left with no trace of me ever being there. Drop-in visits will be more than just a quick check-up, they will be filled with outside and playtime, maybe even a walk or two as well!

Information Samantha C. would like to know about your pet

I like to know how your dog gets along with other dogs, cats, and other people. What you'd describe their personality as is very important to me as well as it gives me an idea of how to interact with your dog so they feel comfortable in their environment. If your dog has any special dietary needs, medications, or a special routine please inform me, I'm more than willing and happy to work with them. Also, I'd like to know how your dog fairs in storms, being by themselves, and any situation you think your dog gets anxious in. This includes baths, blow-drying, any loud noises, or anything that unnerves your dog. Also, I'd love to know their favorite treats, toys, and food!

A typical day

- I'm an avid outdoorswoman, any excuse to be outside is a good one and I'm sure your pet will agree with me if they enjoy being outside too. Expect us to visit any and all trails in the immediate Houghton/Hancock area, or any trails and parks around your house as well. If your dog has a familiar and favorite area my top priority will be to take them there first and foremost. - Active dogs can expect long hikes on backcountry trails in the summer, in the winter snowshoeing and walking on pet-safe trails will be our go-to. During these walks/hikes, your dog's safety and health are my priority, that is why I'll actively be on the lookout for anything that may pose as a hazard to their health, watch their behavior, and give breaks if they need it. - Drop-in visits will consist of potty breaks, feeding (if requested), plenty of playtime and cuddles, and if needed/requested a short walk to expend some energy. Depending on the dog and your requests I can spend more than an hour with them or less, all comes down to you and your dog! - House sitting will be much like an extended drop-in visit, I also firmly believe in "leave no trace" both on and off the trail (your home especially!). If there is anything else I can do for your house while you're gone please let me know and I'll be happy to do it!

I currently attend MTU part-time and work part-time at a retail job, meaning I have a lot of time during my overall days to watch, care, and play with your dogs, cats, and whatever else you call family. On work and school days, I'm primarily open for evenings and mornings, on days off anything goes! I'm also a relatively flexible person, so if you need an extension or any accommodations I should be able to wiggle around to provide the care your pets need.
