Samantha is a Animal Lover! She takes great pride in what she dose with pets of all types and can recognize and understand what your pet needs are when they are in her care. Her habits towards your pet will make them feel like a friend is over to play with them, and she is very good at teaching them new tricks. I would recommend her highly to take care of your pet
Friendly and professional, have never met a more "dog person" did a great job with my 3 and is reasonably priced. If you'd rather relax like me after the 9-5 grind she'll take them for you and save you the guilt of stares and leash pawing.
A tired dog is a happy dog!
WHO I AM: Hello! My name is Sam and I am a lifelong dog lover. I've cared for my own dogs for over 20 years each with unique medical issues and limitations from old age, to severe anxiety, heart problems, ortho issues, and medication needs (By day, I'm a pharmacy technician so medications aren't a big deal for me). Tell me what your pup needs and I'll do my very best to accommodate.
WHAT I ...
What Samantha would like to know about your dog
MY LIMITATIONS: I will walk any dog over 4 months old with up to date vaccines (due to concerns about parvo disease) but I have NO breed or size restrictions. However, if your dog is too young to walk or has other medical issues and can't walk, I will happily do a 30-minute playtime complete with belly rubs at your place and I will do it at the same rate as my walks. At this point in time, I CANNOT administer injectable medications like insulin. I can only administer oral and topical medications.
DOG'S PREFERENCES AND LIMITATIONS: Please let me know if your dog has ANY medical issues, big or small. This could be anything from anxiety around red cars to hating being petted behind the ears to a preference of lamb to chicken. Does your dog answer better to Pumpkin than Rex? My dog Nova answers better to Loaf! Is your dog afraid of the mean cat down the street? I also need to know any medications you would like me to administer, time of day of administration, how to administer (peanut butter on finger, wrap it in cheese, etc), and so on. This information helps me provide a better experience for your dog which in turn translates to a better experience for you!
HOURS AVAILABLE: For walking and check-ins, I am available after 5:30pm and until 930pm on the weekdays listed active on the Rover Calendar. I am available all day on the weekends for both services unless otherwise noted.
MY PREFERENCES: I prefer to use an OPTIONAL walking aid called a gentle leader (see Nova modeling it in my pictures) on any dogs that I will provide it as part of the walking service if you prefer. It wraps around the pup's snout and clicks in behind the ears. It's designed to allow the dog to pant, breathe, and lick without limitation. It works with the dog by redirecting the pull behind them by turning their head. Eventually, the pup learns not to pull and walks comfortably. This tool is been indispensable for larger breeds (like my three) that like to pull. It causes no harm to the dog and makes walking much more enjoyable for everyone involved! I have received training on proper fitting and use by veterinarians and animal behaviorists and use them safely with each of my dogs for every walk.
TRAINING: Please tell me what your command words are for your dog. Do they know stop instead of heel? Place instead of sit? This makes it much easier to handle your dog safely if I know what they respond to and if they're treat motivated (I bring my own but can use your treats if you prefer) or praise motivated (Good boy! Yes!).
MEET AND GREETS: I prefer to do meet and greets prior to walking and checking in on your pup to make sure we're a good fit for each other. I can do the meet and greet 15 minutes before your appointment complementary so no time is wasted during the walk or stay.
