Animal care is my passion!
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Samantha Struemph and I am 21 years old. Animals have always been a part of my life ever since I was a little girl. I have about 3 years experience caring for animals at local animal shelters, homes, and working with a friend to rescue strays and find them a new home. While on break from college, I frequently visited Dr. Steck’s vet clinic to learn about boarding, grooming, medication, and more so that I could gain experience in the animal care field. I got a job temporarily at the clinic as a veterinary assistant which allows for me to offer services like kennel cleaning, medication administration, and medicated baths. I currently work one other job, but my schedule is not very strict and can be worked around! I am willing to run, play, and train any animal that needs it. All aspects of animal care have a dear spot in my heart; I would really love to offer love and care to your special animals! My mother and I currently do not have a dog because our Italian Greyhound unfortunately had to be put down due to glaucoma and cataracts. My dog's name was Elphaba, from the musical Wicked, and she was 8 years old when she passed away. Like previously mentioned, despite not having a dog currently, I have quite a bit of experience caring for dogs and cats alike. Currently, I have one cat named Nahla and she is so kind and loving. I can't wait to hear from you! Hopefully you will choose me as your next sitter! It would be my pleasure!!
Reviews
This was our first time to leave our dogs with someone. We felt at ease after meeting Samantha. She had a cheerful disposition and a reassuring knowledge of animals. We have a puppy and a special-needs adult dog and both took to her faster than we expected. Even our cats didn't hesitate to meet her right away. She kept us updated with texts and photos. And she took initiative when situations, which we hadn't addressed in advance, came up. We will request her services again and recommend her to others.
She’s just fabulous! Cooper loves her.

Information Samantha B. would like to know about your pet
One of the most important things for me to know is if the dog is potty trained, if their are comfortable around multiple people, and if they are okay with cats and other animals present during the stay. My mother and I have a cat; she is very shy, but so sweet when you get to know her. However, even if she hides when the dog stays with me, I want to have confidence in leaving to run a quick errand and come back knowing that my cat was not stressed out by a dog that unintentionally scared her. I want both my cat and your dog to have a safe, healthy, and happy stay!! Thank you so much! :)
A typical day
One of my favorite activities to do with dogs is make peanut butter Kong toys to train their brains and harness their decision-making abilities while enjoying a treat in the process! I also enjoy going running/walking with my guest pets in the morning to get some energy out of their system before I go run errands or go to my other job. I also listen and take cues from the body language of my guest pets to figure out exactly what they want to do on that particular day!! The last and my absolute favorite thing to do with my guest pet(s) is take them to the dog park that is only 5 miles away from my house by trail. There is so much freedom for them to run, play and interact with other dogs, make friends, and play fetch with me in a safe area.
