We took on 16 (one had a litter of puppies!) after Katrina, and that's where I got most of my experience. All of the dogs we cared for had varying levels of playfulness and aggression. I learned to understand how to treat dogs according to their behaviors and personalities. When I entered high school, I started dog sitting/cat sitting for my neighbors and eventually my teachers and my father's coworkers. I still do this today, but a lot of my past clientele has moved, so I would like to add more pet owners to my base. What I have done for the past years is in home drop ins for pets, where I check if everything is good, play with them, check water and food, give medication if necessary and take them outside to potty. Depending on my relationship with the dog, sometimes I'll leash them and go on a little adventure in city park or run crescent park. I am a muralist and artist with a flexible schedule, and I value communication with clients!
