Pet care experience
Ever since I was a little kid, I have loved spending time with animals. I’m always the person to stop and pet dogs I pass on the street, and the first person my friends and family call when they need help taking care of their dog or cat. At home in Michigan I have a 6 year old lab/retriever mix, and a 4 year old terrier rescue puppy. In Washington however I don't have any pets, and miss spending time with my furry friends! I really enjoy being active and outdoors, and I would love to take your dog on walks around the beautiful streets and parks of Bellingham. I am also available for drop-in visits and house sitting. I have experience taking care of dogs of all sizes and ages, and would love to hang out with your pup no matter what kind they are. I also have experience taking care of cats, and am willing to take care your cat if needed. As long as guidelines and schedules are laid out for me, I’m more than happy to carefully follow directions for your pet’s care. Sam is a wonderful pet sitter! She stayed with my two dogs and kitten for the weekend and I feel they were very well cared for. Sam texted me pics and let me know of anything that was going on with the animals. I can tell she really loves animals and enjoys spending time with them. She did a great job and I will definitely be asking her to pet sit again!
Sam is better with people and animals than any person I know. She is better with a dog than without. Her pupper, Satchel is so lucky to have her. I have known Sam since she got Satchel and she always treats him like a priority. Sam treats dogs as equals. She has so much care and respect for animals and that is why Rover would be lucky to have her.
Sam is 100% the most avid animal lover I know. Every time she sees them she needs to be petting them, and they always love her. She’s taken care of my own and many friends pets and I know none of us would have anyone else for the job!

When dog sitting I make sure we get plenty of walks and outdoor-time, and also know how much most pups love just hanging out and playing at home. I haven't met a dog that I don't get along with, and just want to make sure each of them are as comfortable and happy as possible!

Before taking care of someone's dog, I always make sure I know their feeding and bathroom routines, where they sleep, how best to walk them, and whether or not I can take them to dog parks. I also like to know if there are certain things that make them anxious and how to calm them down, and whether I can take them in the car to go for walks at places like Lake Padden. Apart from specifically dog-related information, I always make sure I know how to reach the owner in case of an emergency, and when house-sitting I make sure to ask how to best care for the house while I am staying there.
A typical day
I love to go on walks or runs with dogs, take them to the dog park, or just spend time throwing a ball around the yard or playing tug of war. One of my favorite places in Bellingham to walk and run is Lake Padden, and I spend a lot of time taking walks on the Interurban or around different neighborhoods in town.

I'm currently between jobs and have a very open schedule. I love to stay busy and active so I am happy to spend any time I can throughout the week hanging out with your pup!
