<3 all for the love of pets <3

Pet care experience

Hi there and welcome! As a quick introduction my name is Sage Marie. I currently am a full-time sitter on Rover and I have been for the past five years. I offer house sitting, drop in visits, dog walks, as well as training, grooming and bathing. I am also Dog&Cat CPR certified. I don't have a dog at home but I do have two cats. I would recommend to anyone to read the rest of my profile in detail for more information on each service I offer and what you could expect from me as a sitter during your pets stay. <3 (: ALL ABOUT ME :) <3 I was born into a home with two cats growing up and instantly fell in love with the idea of animals as family. I have had six cats in my lifetime, a turtle, guinea pigs, a hamster, a dog, fish, mice and a gecko. I started pet sitting at a young age and have been ever since. I lived with my best friend frequently during the later half of my childhood. Her family kept a dog, many cats, bunnies, mice, fish, ferrets, a snake, a frog, birds, and raised about seventy chickens. Living with her gave me lots of experience with pet sitting and different types of pets. Because of my interest in the relationship between people and our pets I took a college level veterinary and grooming course. I LOVE animals and I'm experienced in pet training and I am CPR certified. Right now I am a full time rover sitter and I plan to be for the upcoming years. I have worked with all sorts of sizes, breeds, and types of dogs. So don't worry if you have an aggressive breed, dog larger than I am, or a tiny pup that you carry in your purse. I have also worked with dogs with health problems. I'm familiar with many different types of medications including pills, powders, oral liquids, and even IV injections. Please let me know before booking what type of medications (if any) that your pets take. Medication may raise the price of your stay slightly. Before moving to Colorado I worked as a pre school teacher. Now I spend my time working with pets, writing, cooking, sewing and other stay-home activities. I don't have many obligations but I will be sure to let you know if I have any appointments during your stay. If I do, I try to never leave a pet alone for more than four hours. I really look forward to meeting you and your life long best friend(s)! Quick note on availability: I operate on a first come, first serve basis so make sure you book in advance whenever possible :) Please keep reading for specifics on each service I offer!

I always treat people's pets like they are my pets at home so I'm constantly giving the best love and care I can. It's also really important to me that their normal schedule doesn't change like walk times or eating times or even how you talk to your pets. Lots of pets respond differently to different commands.

Information Sage Marie S. would like to know about your pet

I have no breed, size, or temper preferences. For your dogs best interest it is still always a good idea to let me know the following: what type of pet or pets you have (dog, cat, fish, lizard etc) weight, breed, sex, age, uncommon allergies, if neutered/spayed, medications, fears, bad habits to be aware of, new habit needing to be formed, any health conditions to be aware of, emergency contact, and anything I have mentioned in your previous reading. Feel free to ask me any questions you have and I will do my best to help you through the booking process!

A typical day

SERVICES: Typically I will do a meet and greet at your home before any of these types of bookings so you can get to know me and let me know all the tricks to your home. Don't worry if you've never done one of these. I am happy to walk you through the process. The first meet and greet is always free of charge no matter how far of a drive. During all of these services I can help with feeding and watering your pets, letting them outside if you have a fenced in yard, and giving lots of love and playing. In addition to taking care of your pets I can also do simple household tasks. I can help with getting the mail, newspaper, and/or signing for or bringing in packages, taking the trash out or to the curb, feeding the fish, etc for no additional charge. I do charge a small fee for additional services like giving medications or taking care of cats, rodents, reptiles, birds, etc. Don’t forget the keys! After booking or at the end of a meet and greet if you are confident that you will book you can give me a spare key, tell me the location of the hide-a-key, or give me a garage or front door code so I can get into and lock up safely. Also don’t forget to tell me the location of the mailbox, and leave a code or key to that if you would like me to get your mail. I will drive up to 10 miles or twenty minutes maximum away from my home (near powers and platte) included in the price of your booking. If you live further away than this I will adjust the price to include the extra gas I would be using, thank you for your understanding! Please keep reading for specifics on each service House Sitting: During a house sitting stay I stay at your home nearly all day. I try my best to ensure your pets keep the regular routine they typically would have if you were home all day. It is up to you if I sleep overnight in your home or if I stay at my home overnight. If I stay overnight in your home I may need to go home once a day to feed my cat but this won't take more than two hours in total. If you prefer I stay at my home at night, I will arrive early in the morning and leave late a night to ensure the most time possible is spent in your house to keep your home and pets safe. Just let me know if you want me to stay at your place or mine! Walks are free of charge during house sitting stays. Let me know if your dog has restrictions like 'should only walk a half mile in total because of bad knees'. Start and ending times can be as late or as early as you need. Please try your best to estimate your times correctly. It is better on my schedule for you to give me a large estimate (“I’ll be back around 4-8pm”) than it is to give an exact time and be over an hour late. Dog Walking: Typically this is where I come to your house at a time you request to walk your dog. Rover recommends sitters spend a half hour for this service, however I typically like to spend forty five minutes to an hour in total. I do this so there is time to feed and water your dog(s) or give them medications if that is needed during your time slot. You will get a photo of your dog(s) along with a rover card which shows you where we walked, how far, for how long, if they got water and or food and more. Let me know if your dog has restrictions like 'should only walk a half mile in total because of bad knees'. Drop In Visits: Typically this is where I come to your house at a time you request to check in on your pets, give them food and water and let your dogs out into your yard for places with fenced in yards. Rover recommends that drop in visits last a half hour however I personally take forty five minutes to an hour to give your pet more time and better quality care. A drop in visit does not include a walk so be careful when you pick which service you require! Grooming/bathing: I can offer you my experience in dog washing and grooming for an additional price. Let me know before booking if you'd like just a bath or a bath and grooming. I am able to bring all the materials I need. I use no-tear shampoos and conditioners. I have products specially for puppies and specially for all white pups. If you want your dog groomed as well, let me know the style you usually like on them. Keep in mind if you would like to add a bath to a stay, I always wash and groom on the last day of a stay so they may have a wet collar on when you return home. I have a fresh scent guarantee on all baths. PS: I totally understand that emergencies happen! If one arises try to let me know how it will effect when you will be needing me or when you will be returning as soon as you are able. You never know when a flight could be delayed until the next day or you have to come home sooner! I can help you book extra nights, refund nights, or I can stay up later or get up earlier for you to assure your pets stay safe and comfortable.
