𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤, 𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤𝙬 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨! My name is Saana and I've been living in Fremont with my husband since last year, after spending the first 26 years of my life in Finland and the UK. I grew up with dogs, and animals in general have always been a big part of my life. Since moving to the US, I've really missed having animal company, and after finishing my Computer Science degree late last year, I finally decided to do something about it, which is how I ended up signing up for Rover! I'm looking forward to getting to know some local cats and dogs who are in need of some extra attention while their human carers are at work or away on holiday. I feel like I really bond with animals and I don't think there's anything more rewarding in the world than earning their trust and building a close relationship with them. I believe I can read animals' body language and understand their emotions to know how to behave around them, when to give them space, and how to make them feel comfortable around me. Having cared for my own and other people's dogs since I was little (we always had Rough and Smooth Collies at home, and as an adult, I had a rescue Staffie), I am confident and comfortable with all kinds of dogs, and have plenty of experience with everything that looking after a dog may involve: I have raised puppies into well-behaving dog citizens, trained obedience and agility, dealt with problem behaviour, adopted a shelter dog with reactivity issues, and looked after dogs with different kinds of health issues including arthritis, muscle atrophy, and cancer. While I've never had a cat of my own, I have had them in my extended family and looked after friends' and neighbours' cats before so I'm confident I take care of them, too. And I believe the testimonials I have received over the past few months speak for themselves. :)
