Pet care experience
I have loved and cared for animals my whole life! Growing up, I lived on a small farm and made it a hobby of bringing home stray animals to rehabilitate. My dog, Sadie, is an easygoing 11 year old chihuahua mix who gets along with all animals of all ages and sizes. I have lots of experience caring for all types of animals, no matter what size, age, or breed. I was a pet sitter/dog walker in Chicago for a summer & I also shadowed a veterinarian for a little over a year, so I have basic knowledge of animal healthcare. Additionally, I have spent many hours volunteering at local animal shelters. It is so important to me that pets receive the proper care, love, and attention they deserve and I am so excited to meet you and your pet(s)!

While I do not have a large backyard, I do live down the street from a large park that I frequently take my own pup to. Pets in my care will remain leashed when outside, but if the pet is a high energy pet, I am happy to extend our walk times or take them to a nature trail to burn some excess energy. If the pet is to be left unattended at any time, they will have Sadie to keep them company and can be kenneled if need be. My apartment is a very pet-friendly space!

I have no breed preferences, but I would like to know if the dog gets along well with other animals, is naturally nervous, dislikes new people, etc. for the comfort and safety of everyone.
A typical day
There are several parks in the area that my dog & I frequent as we like to switch it up every now and then and provide a change of scenery and smells. I also have a few different puzzle toys for indoor enrichment.

Availability
I currently create my own work schedule, so I am very flexible and can accommodate most schedules. My dog, Sadie, and I typically start the day around 8 am with a walk around our neighborhood and then breakfast. Depending on my work schedule, we typically take a potty break around noon and a longer walk around 2-4 and then another potty break around 6-8 before dinner. I take Sadie on a hike or to a park at least 1-3 times a week because she *loves* to sniff and explore all the smells and sights at the parks and she’s fairly active for a senior dog! I believe that enrichment and stimulation is so important for our little fur friends.
