Despite asking Santa for a puppy every single year of my childhood, I was only able to have my first dog shortly after finishing college. My girlfriend Lari and I adopted our dude Octopus and were able to spend three wonderful years with him before he passed. He was a Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix who had frequent stomach issues and somehow managed to get cancer three different times, so Lari and I have had a TON of experience with whatever special needs your dog may have. After helping Octopus beat cancer twice and caring for him as the third cancer took over, I've learned that dogs are family and anything less than 100% commitment is not enough. We did absolutely everything we could to keep our dog happy and healthy, and we will treat your dog the same. I am a cancer scientist and spend around half of my work days in a lab close to my apartment, then work from home most afternoons. My girlfriend Lari is a healthcare consultant who works completely from home. Both of us have the flexibility to give your dog as much play time and attention as they want! We live in an apartment building with elevators and a fenced-in parking lot with designated dog areas. Our apartment has more than enough room for your dog to run around a bit, and quite a few cozy spots to curl up and take a nap. We live in a relatively quiet pocket of the city just outside the loop, with just a 5 minute walk to the nearest dog park.
