We have a large, diverse, medically, physically, and behaviorally challenged pack; so much so that for YEARS my husband and I have not been able to find anyone up to the challenge of walking into our home and caring for 6 special needs dogs… which is understandable, as it’s often overwhelming for 2 caretakers often. I searched on Rover and thought a double person/couple approach would be a fantastic start, but was worried the dog’s needs would be too much, as it truly is too much for just about every human. I’ve come to realize Ryan and Jaquelin are not just any humans, and not just any sitters, and far more advanced when it comes to anticipating needs for animals; more than anyone I’ve had the pleasure to meet who does this line of work, and I say that with 15 years of rescue and rehab experience. What we needed was so much more than a potty break for our dogs; what we needed we probably didn’t even realize, but Ryan and Jaqueline did. They have been tirelessly working on our dog’s stranger danger aggressions, issues with trust, and creating an environment of safety, love, and compassion for our damaged little souls who really needed to feel that from more than just their primary caregivers. Ryan and Jac see it all feelingly. They are experts at sensing a dog’s energy and what they are putting out. They are calm and collected and absolutely know dog behavior and language and know how to read dogs. They provide so much time, compassion, and gentleness… something I cannot stress enough when working with damaged dogs. They see past the potty messes, and see what the dogs needs in order to form a better relationship, and then they hone in and work tirelessly on the RELATIONSHIP, not just the tasks of caretaking. They have gone so far above what one would expect a “sitter” to do. They have been peed and pooped on, snarled at, barked at for hours on end, cleaned massive messes, sat and talked gently, and even got my paralyzed girl in her wheelchair- a BIG ask for anyone!!! Their level of skill in working with animals, and their approach seeped in compassion and calm energy is beyond what I thought would ever exist in the world of having someone care for your loved ones in the way that you would. Additionally, I cannot stress how communicative they are. Every visit, I get so many wonderful videos, messages, and updates. While we have home video cameras in our house, I never look when Ryan and Jac are there, as the updates they give me are so much better than what I could see myself. I get to see updates through their eyes; I get to see the magic they are creating that they openly and frequently share. There is NEVER a question in my mind about things… I feel so much better as a guardian knowing if anything was off, they would immediately catch it and bring it to attention. Everything they do, they communicate, and as a worried mom, I can’t express how important that is, and how appreciative I am they always keep me informed and have continual open lines of communication. The open communication is not just reporting what’s happening on the visit, but in that they ask questions and dialogue in order to get as much information as possible to help them be better caretakers. They continually seek self-improvement in their approach and interactions with my complicated pack. I cannot recommend them enough for their special abilities and kindness they bring. Their attention to detail, desire to improve, and care soaked in compassion make them true gems… not just to crazy helicopter moms like myself… but to the new friends they make, the dogs, who love them so much and who’s visits are the highlights of their weeks. They have done wonders in being the ONLY people some of the more scared ones are finally comfortable with. One of my dogs recently barked for 5 days straight when family who were not dog people visited, as she is absolutely terrified of life… That same dog now does not bark, but instead seeks affection from Ryan and Jac when they visit, something they hold the honor of being just about the only people in the world to achieve. While I feel extremely lucky and grateful to have them in our kid’s lives, the kids (dogs) are probably even more grateful, as their worlds have opened up and shown them more special humans with special compassion powers.

Ryan and Jacqueline did a fantastic job with our dogs and went above and beyond what we expected. They sent lots of updates and pictures too and got along great with Ula and Jax. I highly recommend them!!!
