Hello! I’m Ryan, and I spend about 95% of my time with animals! My “specialty” is boarding cats in my home, especially cats with medical problems. If this is what you’re looking for, look no further! I believe I have the best possible setup to board kitties and keep their stress level to a minimum while they’re away from home. I have a spare room that I keep free of my own pets in order to keep the “other animal” smell down for visiting kitties, there are Feliway pheromone diffusers in use when kitties are staying there, as well as a window, climbing attachments on the walls, and a cat tree. I also provide beds, blankets, toys, and pee pads. I do require that you provide a litter box, litter, food, and food bowls. It is also helpful for your kitty to have some items from home like blankets, their favorite bed, or some of their favorite toys. I can administer oral or injectable medications and manage diabetic pets who may be too nervous to eat by checking a blood glucose level to determine how much insulin is needed (nobody wants an ER trip that could be avoided!) VERY IMPORTANT: I can accept cats with feline leukemia (Felv) and with FIV, but you MUST disclose this information to me, as a lot more cleaning and disinfecting is involved after your kitty goes back home. After a potentially contagious kitty stays with me and the room is disinfected, no other cats will enter that room for 24 hours to ensure that nothing can be transmitted to the kitties who are coming in next. I currently work as a Registered Veterinary Technician, and have 10 years of experience working in veterinary hospitals, including emergency veterinary care. As I mentioned before, I’m experienced in giving oral and injectable medications, caring for pets who are diabetic or have other medical problems, and hospice care. I’m certified in Fear Free veterinary care and in canine and feline CPR. I share my home with my fiancé, our 8 cats (Rhonda, Napoleon, Puddle, Spicy, Potato, Dweezil, Off-Brand Dweezil, and Old Lady Dweezil), 3 dogs (Alli, Rutabaga, and Belphegor), and ferret, Ruth.
