I’m a young professional working in DC but loving animals has always played a large role in my life. Since childhood I’ve always loved animals. I began by owning small animals and birds as a child. In middle school my parents got me my first dog and my second in high school. After graduate school I couldn’t afford to own a dog of my own so I began volunteering with the cats and dogs at my local shelter. Besides interacting with the animals at the shelter, I began taking my volunteering home by doing doggie sleepovers to give the dogs a break from their kennels. After a few sleepovers I wanted to do even more. I then decided to foster one of their senior dogs who was a transfer for another shelter in West Virginia with medical and behavior issues. I fostered her for a year and a half before adopting her. Therefore, I’m also experienced with dogs with unique medical and behavior conditions that require medication on the clock. Also, through volunteering with the shelter, I received training on animal behavior and CPR. I will make your cat or dog feel safe and loved by bonding with them and making them feel at home.
