Pet care experience
I'm a Navy veteran and have been living in Austin since 2020 with my husband. I grew up with dogs all my life and can't imagine my life without them! I've had larger breed dogs (Pitties, Rotties, labs etc.) growing up but I've also taken care of small and medium sized dogs through volunteer work for a rescue in Maryland (PAW Rescue). Because I've never had my own cats, I am always looking forward to caring for them. I have experience looking after cats while their parents were away and absolutely loved every moment. I've also taken part in the TNR program with Austin Humane Society so I'm familiar with looking after cats during recovery post-surgery. I have a lab-pit mix, who is 6 y/o and I've had her since she was a puppy. My husband and I previously also had a 14 y/o senior dog (he's had her as a pup) who I've been looking after her since she was 9. She unfortunately passed away earlier this year from a long fight against cancer. Due to this, I have experience with wound care from surgical removal of her tumor and I'm comfortable administering chemo medication. Before caring for your pet, I would like to have a meet and greet just to make sure we are a good fit for each other. I want to make sure that everyone is comfortable and feeling safe with one another. I will look after your pet(s) as if they were my own.

We’ve used Roxy’s services a few times now and will continue to book her anytime we are out of town! She is so wonderful with our cat, Barnabus and seems to really enjoy her time with him. Each time we’ve returned, Barnie has been calmer than he ever has with a sitter in the past. Would 1000% recommend her to anyone who loves their pet dearly and needs someone they trust 😊.
Roxy was fantastic. She left detailed messages with great pictures, was reliable and made sure to bond with the cats. She went out of her way to follow up with us when I had a problem with my key and to clean up my cats messes. Would highly recommend her!

I will move at your pet's pace when it comes to gaining their trust. I will not push them to do anything that makes them scared or uncomfortable. I am patient with anxious dogs as my youngest dog is pretty skittish and anxious. I have previously spent an hour coaxing one of my regular pups into letting me pet him during a meet and greet because he was very nervous around new people but we ended up being the best of friends! For walks on hot days, I try to keep dogs on grass or in the shade as much as possible. I do ask that we keep walks scheduled to the mornings (10am at the latest) during the day for the pups' safety or that the walks themselves be kept short but I will tire them out with indoor play time.

I'd like to know if your pet has any special needs, food restrictions, or any behavior that I should be aware of before caring for them. I'd also like to know if your pet is up to date on their shots.
A typical day
I can walk pretty fast in a 30 minute walk so we can definitely get lots of exercise in but I will never force your pet to do more than they can. I will make sure to listen to them and move at their pace, that is my top priority. If there's a park nearby we'll definitely go there to smell the flowers and see all of the fun things going on at the park.

Rover is currently my main focus so I'm available most of the time except for Mondays at 2pm-4:30pm so those would be the only times I would need flexibility for a booking.
