I have been a middle school teacher and an educational leader for over 20 years. I also teach online classes to students in China. I have three children ages 16-21. I am a nurturer and care-taker at heart, and I love animals. I have experience with dogs, cats, poultry, and small pets like hamsters and rabbits. Most recently, my family had a cat, Boots, for over twelve years. He was a playful cat who always greeted us at the door when we came home each day. After he passed, we rescued a dog, Dixie, and she has brought our home so much joy! She enjoys going for walks as well as relaxing with us! Our pets have always been considered members of our family. I have been house-sitting for people with pets for a few years all across the country as an exciting and rewarding way to travel on long weekends and other breaks from school. My strengths as a house-sitter are excellent communication, reliability, organization, and tidiness. I have met some really great people through house-sitting. It has been rewarding to know that my loving care of their pets allows them to enjoy care-free time away from home. I have enjoyed playing with and snuggling up with other people's pets even more than I thought I would. My kids also enjoy spending time with animals, so sometimes they accompany me on house sits. They are a great help, and the pets love the extra attention. I have enjoyed it so much that I decided to start sitting locally through Rover and to open my own home to other people's pets as well. It has given me the opportunity to care for even more pets more often.
