Veterinary Pro here for Drop-Ins

Pet care experience

A message to the dogs and cats of Rover: A walk or drop-in visit is much more than a potty break or getting from Point A to Point B. I want our interactions to be fun and engaging. I want you to know that I'm going to care for you, as if you were my own pet. I'm going to talk to you on our walk and provide plenty of opportunities for head and back scratches. We are going to explore your neighborhood and stop to pee on as many things as you see fit. I'm going to tucker you out while developing a trusting friendship. I want your experience to be personal. When you hire someone to walk your dog or check-in on your pets, the importance of trust and security cannot be overstated. Your pet's experience is my main priority. As someone with very little family, my pets are the most important thing in my life and I recognize the importance of your pets in yours. As a former veterinary assistant in both general and specialty practice, I have firsthand direct experience with canine and feline urgencies and emergencies. Whether you have a kitten or puppy, senior animals, special needs animals, small breeds, or large breeds, I have experience in a professional veterinary setting. Prior to working at an imaging specialty practice for two years, I spent five years as a veterinary assistant at a boutique veterinary clinic in Capitol Hill. About Me: -Canadian (Vancouver/Calgary) & American (as of June 2019!!) -Master of Science Degree in Primate Conservation -Studied primate behavior in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Costa Rica, and Belize -Worked as a veterinary assistant at a boutique Capitol Hill clinic for 5 years and specialty imaging practice for 2 years -Currently work as a veterinary assistant at a veterinary radiology practice on Wednesdays -Wife works on COVID & HIV vaccines and I'm grateful that her income allows me to do this -Have always worked with vulnerable populations (children, animals, terminal diseases) -I'm a collector of: Baseball Cards, Tattoos, Urban Art

Ross did an amazing job taking care of my cat! He provided proof-of-play-pics and notes describing her attitude. Ross was great from the moment of contact to discharging his final duties during the week that I was gone.

Ross did a great job of watching our dog Koko while we were out of town. He was flexible, communicative, sent us lots of pictures and kept us up to date on how Koko was doing. Would definitely recommend Ross to others.

Ross was fantastic! Very professional and amazing with our needy, overly spoiled cat. We were impressed when we met him that he was already familiar with the medication our cat was on, but the photos he sent us showed a cat who was also obviously won over. Normally we get a bit of attitude after being away for any length of time on a vacation, but this time when we got home our kitty was in good spirits (though he might be disappointed when his new tattooed best friend with all the treats isn't here to visit again tomorrow).

Ross was absolutely great with Jackson who sometimes takes a minute to warm up to males but liked Ross right away. He also sent updates during the visit and even brought my package in which was super kind. I’ll be hiring Ross again.

Information Ross T. would like to know about your pet

It would be preferred to know the following information. Nothing listed is a deal-breaker for me, but it would be good for me to know. -Does your pet have any medical conditions or require any medications? -Do you need me to administer any oral or SQ medications? For Dogs: -Is your dog aggressive towards other dogs? -Is your dog aggressive towards adults or children? For Cats: -Is your cat an indoor only cat or indoor/outdoor? -Does your cat prefer to be alone with new people or do they require more contact? -If your cat likes to play or receive certain kinds of scratches or love, please let me know and I will try my best to accommodate.

I'm a pretty easy going person, but don't let that fool you, as I'm extremely aware of my surroundings. When I'm walking your dog(s), I prefer to stay away from other dogs and people, when possible. As a Veterinary Assistant, I would often work with dog walkers whose dogs were involved in an altercation on a walk or at the dog park and required interventional medical care. I want to minimize these risks and focus on developing my relationship with your pet. I'll typically walk around your neighborhood, which you can see via the Rover app, recording all pees and poops, while taking a few photos throughout our walk. I want you to see that your pup is out and having a good time, rain or shine! I find that I talk to dogs a lot when I walk them. A lot of positive affirmations of 'good boy' or 'good girl' etc...coupled with a few breaks for snuggles. If you have treats that you would like me to give before/after/or on our walk, please let me know. I don't bring my own, as each dog is unique and I don't want to give them a treat containing a product that may cause a reaction. I love what I do and please see my reviews, I'm reliable, affable, and will always go above and beyond for my clients and their pets! My wife and I started our small family unit approximately twelve years ago with the adoption of our first cat. We added a second cat three years later. Over that time period, we have spent our time creating a family unit where our pets are our family. There happiness is paramount and I've been lucky enough to work with animals on a professional level as well.
