Pet care experience
We got our first dog 8 years ago, a nervous and grouchy little chihuahua. I’ve always looked after him and gone the extra mile for a few of his special requirements, an example would be he refuses to eat from a bowl and becomes very nervous so requires hand feeding. Chihuahuas are very nervous dogs therefore I have learnt to read a lot of body language which dogs can give off. I also look after my aunties dog who is a staffie X springer, so lots of energy! Occasionally I help my boyfriend look after his family dogs which are 2 shitzu’s as well as caring for family cats and friends cats!

If your dog is nervous around other dogs or reactive within the general public, my grandparents own a large private dairy farm which is ideal for nervous or reactive doggies! Our family chihuahua has nervous aggression so we much prefer taking him to such secluded areas to avoid stress!

A typical day
I love going to my grandparents farm, it’s lots of free open fields which are perfect for walks on and off lead. This is also great for dogs which are nervous around other dogs and people or dogs with high energy. I particularly love playing with my aunties springer X Staffie as she is obsessed with fetch.

Availability
I work 6 days a week, Mondays off but every afternoon and evening is usually free. I recently moved out to my own flat which I am allowed pets. Our family dog regularly gets dropped off to me as my family work night shifts so it can vary.
