I have lived with dogs during my developmental years and have continued a loving connection with dogs as an adult. As a teenager I would care for my family's black Labrador Retriever when my parents were away on business or travel. Taking care of "Pebbles" was a pleasure, as she never tired of playful activities. As an outdoor enthusiast, I'd enjoy taking her on long walks and swim sessions at a nearby river. In my early twenties, my parents switched to smaller, more domesticated breeds. They adopted a Pomeranian and Yorkshire Terrier from a family friend. The 'Yorkie" was a rescue dog, requiring great care and nurture. It took many years to establish trust with her, but after continual gentle instruction and patience, I earned her affection enough to spend time alone and care for her. With a very relaxed demeanor, the Pomeranian was a breeze to care for, which I greatly appreciated due to the extensive support the Yorkie required on a frequent basis. I currently live in a studio that does not allow me to have an animal, and so I am looking for a way to stay connected to my beloved canine friends. This service will allow me to show affection to dogs, provide a caring service to my community, and earn a supplementary income to help me afford the living expenses in Santa Cruz, California.
