I've been taking care of dogs and cats ever since I was 12. I had the opportunity to take care of a few of my mom's friends, she went to church with, cats and dogs to make some extra money while I was in middle and high school. After I moved out of my parents' house life was just through various opportunities in which I had the chance to take care of more animals. For instance, I had an old friend I reconnected with after high school who just so happened to have a dog she grew up and did not like the environment the dog was still in which was her old house. So for the time being she allowed me to take care of the dog while she was looking for a new place for him. That dog was a pitbull mix. I was presented with another opportunity to look after a friend of a friend's husky german shepherd mix for three days in a row. Lastly, When I moved into my new place I adopted a stray cat, and to my surprise that cat was pregnant with 4 kittens so I had a roll with the punches and take care of 5 cats for 3 and a half months. All this to say it's one thing to have a long-term experience with animals and it's another thing to be able to take care of them at a level despite what is going around, whether you are ready or not, and your ability to adapt to that particular animal. I am proud to say that I have both the experience, and the ability to adapt and learn. I believe that is everything.
