Jack of all trades animal caregiver

Pet care experience

January-March 2024: Due to the unpredictable winter weather and road conditions, I will not be taking walks that start past 6 pm or drop-ins that start past 7 pm from January-March of 2024. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. I am a young, active individual who loves spending time with animals. I grew up around big dogs and had no concerns about being around them. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and most larger breeds need the exercise. I’m happy to take them with me for trail walks or just long walks around the neighbourhood. As much as I love bigger dogs, I couldn’t forget to mention how precious and vital smaller dogs are as companions. Whether your small dog needs a careful walk or some time cuddling while you’re away, I’m happy to help ensure they stay healthy and safe. I have volunteered in multiple vet clinics, where I learned about proper leash handling and some essential medical information. In addition, I am certified in pet first aid through St. John’s Ambulance. I also have experience handling and raising puppies from birth. It is important for puppies to be well-socialized; even a new dog walker can do wonders for your young dog. In addition to taking care of dogs, I also have experience in cat care, from proper feedings to administering subcutaneous injections.

This was our first time leaving our kitten alone for more than the day, and Robyn made everyone so comfortable! She sent us great updates, pictures, and was very reliable. We will definitely try to rebook her, thanks Robyn!! 😊

Robyn is absolutely amazing! My girl is always nervous around new people and Robyn was so patient and sweet with her. They quickly became good friends. My pup is my everything, so it’s difficult to entrust her care to anyone other than myself or my partner, but I completely trusted Robyn to care for her as we would. I will absolutely be using her services again in the future!

I require at least one meeting before the start of any service so your pet can become familiar with me. My goal is always to make sure your pet, or pets feel as comfortable and safe as possible. The home I am staying in, or entering into for their walk is theirs. The safety and well being of your pet is my priority. My pet first aid certification has allowed me to gain information on how to best handle many different kind of medical emergencies. At the moment, I am not offering care in my home.

Information Robyn S. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has an special needs, dietary restrictions, or behaviours to watch out for. Every dog their own unique personality and things they like and dont like. It is always best for me to know these things in advance so I can make sure to keep them away from anything that will cause unnecessary stress.

A typical day

I love trail walks and hikes and I believe they are so beneficial to higher energy dogs. There are plenty of trails around Kingston to choose from that are great for their mental stimulation and physical health. If you’d like me to take your dog on a trail walk I’d just ask that you make sure they’re up to date on their tick prevention first. I've also taken dogs I've cared for to dog parks, dog-friendly wineries in the county, and to provincial parks for days trips. I tailor experiences and outings to the needs and comfort level of the pet and the owner. Please note: I never take a pet I'm watching out of their neighborhood or in my vehicle without first having permission from the owner.
