Pet care experience
Hello, I’m Robin. My experience with pet care is not very extensive, but my love for animals began during childhood. I’m a Navy veteran. After retiring in 2010, I worked in corporate positions. Unfortunately, I wasn't getting satisfaction from 40 hours a week in an office environment and decided to focus on the things that make me happy. What makes me feel the most fulfilled is taking care of animals, especially dogs. I’ve been looking after my friends’ pets, and there’s never a dull moment! I do not have any pet care certifications, but Rover has provided me with incredible learning opportunities including on-demand walking training. Through Rover’s guidance, I plan to work on more certifications to ensure I can offer the best quality pet sitting services. What makes me stand out as a dog sitter is my willingness to go all out for a pup’s happiness. I am not just in pet sitting for the money. I live in Pacific Beach which is absolutely beautiful! I moved here in May 2018 and have encountered nothing but great people. The beach is very close to my home and there are plenty of back roads for long, quiet walks. Right now, I am pet sitting full-time.

Robin was very interested in the needs and habits of the dogs in our initial meeting. And the dogs seemed very content upon our return. The house was as clean as when we left, and Robin communicated well with us when we were away. Overall, it was a good experience and we would use Robin again when we need dog and house sitting.

A typical day
When I meet a new pooch, I get down to their level and let them smell me. I may also provide an owner-approved treat. What happens from there will depend on the dog. Sometimes, giving a pup space is as effective as trying to play games with them. With your permission, I'd love to take your pet on a long walk, maybe to the beach. For me, it’s all about the satisfaction of seeing a dog and their human smile! I provide exceptional attention to detail actually care about both my human and furry clients. Meet-and-greets are key to getting to know not just the pet, but the owner as well. The more the owner feels comfortable, the happier I am, and the same goes for the dog.
