Tofu always has a blast! He's excited when we pull up and even barks at the door to be let in. Robert has plenty of space for him to roam, sniff and relax--it's a great setup.

Robert seems like a very nice and capable guy who has a good setup to be watching dogs, and after we met with him we were comfortable booking a week stay for our dog. We made sure to agree that no other animals (especially cats) would be present as our dog has never been around cats and does better as the only dog in the house. We showed up on Wednesday evening to drop our dog off on our way to the airport and after insisting we help Robert up to his apartment (because we had a kennel, a dog bed, a 45 pound dog, food, toys, etc) so he wouldn't have to carry everything alone, we discovered that in his very small studio apartment, he had three cats. He only warned us of the cats moments before we went inside. Within a minute or so of being inside, one of the cats clawed and hissed at our dog. He claimed the cats would only be there for a few hours. Although this was a total deal breaker and an unacceptable lie, we were forced to leave our dog with him as we only had a couple hours until our flight across the country left. By the time we reached Chicago (so about 8 hours since we had left our dog with Robert), I received several text messages notifying me that we would have to find other accommodations for our dog because she wasn't a "good fit" for Robert. He said she was up all night sniffing around and barking and whining, to which I responded "probably because of all the cats" and he denied she had any problem with them. We ended up scrambling the entirety of our layover in Chicago to find someone we knew who was in town for Christmas the entire week we were gone. Thankfully we had a friend who could pick her up and keep her for the whole week. It was very stressful and we felt so horrible that we had left our dog in such an anxiety-ridden state. Like I said, Robert is a nice guy and I do feel bad leaving such a negative review, but he put us in a really bad position by lying about the cats and then only trying for less than one night to try to make our dog comfortable in this new environment. I will note that although Robert had our dog for the first night, he did offer us a full refund instead of keeping the money for the one night, which was very kind and generous.
