Dogs are transparent creatures: they’re not too hard to figure out if you’re paying attention. In fact, they’re communicating constantly. I love how deeply they appreciate their bonds with all creatures, and the way that they reward us with unlimited love and loyalty. Each has a wonderful, unique personality on top of the endearing qualities that are seemingly inherent to all dogs. Helping nervous and anxious animals find peace, warmth, and joy is part of my life’s mission. I have worked as a volunteer for Humane Society shelters, and have had the joyful experience of fostering many pets. I have also transported pets, both for rescues and individuals. Transporting pets provided tremendous experience in meeting the needs of pets and their owners; there is rarely a time that either might feel more insecure. A calm disposition and trust are paramount to connecting with our more vulnerable friends. I adopted my dog, Recon, from a local rescue when he was four months old. That was 11 years ago. Recon was scared of everything as a pup--even his own water bowl. Recon has taught me how to comfort and bond with pets with skittish personalities. He's come a long way from that scared pup, and has taught me valuable lessons in fear and vulnerability along the way. The newest addition to my family is a cat named Flip. He’s still quite young. Flip keeps me on my toes, and sparks laughter every day. What I love about pet-sitting is that I get to meet pets like Recon and Flip, and create an enjoyable experience during a time that might otherwise be stressful. I strive to bring balance to their lives through positive interactions, active play, and prioritizing safety. When it comes to an animal’s well-being, I’m always diligent and observant, keeping enticing items out-of-reach whenever necessary. Staying upbeat and engaged with a pup goes a long way toward satisfying their curiosity! I love to walk and spend time outdoors. Our day-to-day plans will start with the places, people, and activities that your pup is accustomed to, and build from there. We’re bound to share many wonderful moments from one day to the next!
