I would not recommend River. From showing up late the first day (making us rush to make our flight) to making a mess of our house for the week she stayed, “unprofessional” does not begin to describe our experience. I wouldn’t have minded it so bad if the pets were still taken care of. Unfortunately, our bar is set a little higher than “keep them alive”. The dog was never taken for a walk, the door to the cat litter box was closed so the cat peed on the orthopedic dog bed and many other places, and the overall condition of our pets can be summed up as “stressed”. During her first day, our cat, who has never gotten out before, and we told her to keep an eye on, got out in the rain. LUCKILY, we called and had a neighbor help get him back in without any harm. I’ve never seen someone make such a mess of a house in 1 week, let alone as a guest in someone else’s house. I’ve never had to come home from a vacation to clean my house. She pretty much got paid to lay around and do bare minimum. There were messes everywhere. Food on the couch and in bed, bathroom was a mess, and “something” spilled on the coffee table are just to name a few. We wanted someone to take care of the dog, keep the cat alive since he has a litter box and auto feeder, and just in general keep them company. A neighbor would have done a better job just stopping in every now and then. She never cleaned up the poop from the dog, closed off the litter box, and got paid to make a mess of the house. We are extremely displeased with this sitter and will NOT be rebooking with her again. We have had great experiences with Rover before, and will be looking to book with past sitters next time.

Such a sweet family! Star loved her stay with River and we loved getting photo updates. We will look for River if we find ourselves in the area again.
