Pet care experience
I have lived around dogs my entire life and am completely comfortable with their social cues, customs, and training. I worked as a kennel assistant for over a year, starting as an intern, and I learned much in the way of special and emergency care for dogs. I have aided in the training of my own year-old 80lb. German Shepherd and she responds extremely well to my commands and position as her alpha, despite prior mistreatment and lack of training by her previous owners. She has become a very well-behaved, yet spoiled pup. I am, most of all, patient with even the most reticent animals. I know how to handle animals that are fearful and/or aggressive. Most just need space, time, and gentle assurance that I’ll never hurt or scare them.
Reviews
Riley is very responsible and attentive. She took care of my injured dog, gave meds, got her to eat (even though she was nauseous), and did wound care. She gave me updates throughout the day and made sure my dog was taken care of. Riley is extremely accommodating and loving :-)
Riley was an amazing pet sitter. Our Yorkie and Maltese warmed up to her immediately.

Information Riley M. would like to know about your pet
For breeds larger than 50lbs: I have most experience with dogs that have little to a moderate amount of training, and I will need to know their age and training level before I accept a sitting contract. I am familiar with dog behavioral patterns, especially the establishment of alpha position to large breeds, as that is extremely important in responsiveness to commands.
A typical day
I'll gladly take him or her to the nearest park, and very active games are a given! Fetch, chase, tug-o-war, and even light-hearted wrestling (depending on the dog) are all on the agenda to wear out even the most active dog.
