Pet care experience
I've grown up with dogs my whole life and have seen them grow from rambunctious puppies, to creaky old boys who need help getting up and down the stairs. And I love them all. I consistently dog-sat for multiple years in Washington and am happy to finally get back into it now in Denver. The most important thing I've learned from years of dogsitting is that you can't be prepared for everything, but you need to be prepared for anything. My strangest experience was sitting three purebred, former show Frenchies when one of them went into heat in the middle of a 3-week stay. I couldn't have been prepared for that, or the ensuing fights between the other two, but we made it through and still had fun. Thanks to friends, I have also been exposed to the wonderful world of cats in the last year! While I haven't spent as much time watching our feline friends, I do have experience cat-sitting some pretty pampered purrers and would enjoy any chance to see more.
Reviews
Riley took such good care of Della while I was gone! Very thorough, trustworthy & helpful.
We have used Riley a few times now. Once for a week staying with our pups and a few times for drop by visits. He is super reliable and responsive. Highly recommend!
Riley did a great job with our girls! We came home and could tell they enjoyed their time. We will be reaching out to him for future trips!
Riley is a skilled, caring dog and house sitter. His preparation, questions and care of our 138lb, 2 yr old Swissy was amazing. My husband and I highly recommend Riley.

Safety, trust & environment
Getting a sense of the space and knowing where the pet likes to go and do is a helpful first step when sitting in their home. I want the transition to feel like nothing is happening to their day-to-day. One of my biggest fears is losing a pet. Mine or someone else's. So I am very cautious about any off-leash activity and always making sure we stay close and have a trustworthy grip on a leash. But overall, a safe environment is all about consistency and presence. I can bring a calming presence to most dogs and can be consistent with feedings, walks, etc.
Information Riley L. would like to know about your pet
Aside form the easy stuff such as medication and routine, it's always good to know if the dog has any quirks. Some dogs whine because they are scared and some whine because they are excited. As a dog parent you are in-tune with your dog and I want to make the transition from you to me and back to you as easy as possible on your dog.
A typical day
Living close to two of Denver's best parks is actually what inspired me to get back on Rover. I'm taking all of these walks around City Park with no dog friends to share them with! But I wouldn't limit myself to my usual parks. I love exploring new areas of the city and am happy to go anywhere. As long as there are some good sniffs out there for the dogs. Aside from enjoying the Denver sunshine and architecture, I am happy to play ball, roll in the grass, do some training, or just sit there and relax.

My daily schedule is flexible and I would be more than happy to find a way to incorporate your pet into that day! Most weekends I will try to leave the city when the weather is nice, but I can still work around the needs of your furry friend on those days.
