Pet care experience
I'm a dog whisperer. I've had Chuy (shi tzu) since 2012 and she's my patna. I met Finn (cocker/bull mix) when I met my wife in 2015, and we adopted Wally (pointer) from Austin Animal Shelter in 2020 and Carl (chihuahua) was abandoned before he arrived at our house in 2022. Over the past 25 years, I've had many healthy and happy dogs. We periodically help friends and family with their pets and enjoy it. As the oldest brother of seven siblings and having a history of pet ownership, I believe I have the patience and nurturing nature that is important in a sitter. When your pup stays with me, he or she will be treated as if they are one of our own. If the weather is nice, we'll likely go to the park and walk around the neighborhood. If the weather is unpleasant, we may just Netflix and chill with a periodic treat and potty break.

Rick is a wonderful dog sitter. Professional and considerate, he took his time getting to know Jack during our meet and greet. I appreciate that he asked thoughtful questions about Jack's routine, any medical needs, health issues or special care. He sent the sweetest photo that assured me Jack was in good hands while I was away. Drop off and pick up coordination was also easy. Thank you Rick!
Misty was so happy that she didn't want to come home to me. Rick sent photos, which put my mind at ease, He was also very flexible when I called him and told him I might have to extend my trip because I was in the hospital. Luckily, I was able to return on time. However, it was a blessing to know that Misty would be cared for even if I couldn't make it back on time.
Out of all the sitters I've had through rover, Rick is the best, and that's saying something. He genuinely cared for my dog and treated him like one of his own. I can tell Rick is a true animal person and will definitely be asking him to sit for me again. I can't recommend him highly enough.

The dogs alternate between the house and the fenced-in backyard. We have two large leather ottomans and dog beds that the pups use. There's also a dog house in the backyard, in case they want to be outside but need shelter. We'll allow them on the couch when they're calm and, overall, treat doggy guests as if they're our own.

A typical day
I like to take the pooches to City Park in Lockhart, play fetch in the yard, and/or walk up the street to Lytton Springs Park. If the weather is bad or the dog prefers the indoors, we may binge-watch Netflix on the couch, with a potty break in between episodes.

Availability
I teach with Austin ISD, leaving to work at 7 and returning at 5 on school days. My wife works from home and, while I'm at work, ensures the dogs have food, water, and potty breaks.
