I have grown up in a family that has had animals in it my whole life. Dogs have always been a large part of that family experience which makes my interactions with animals feel like second nature. When I went to college I missed the family dog so much that I would volunteer my time at the local humane society in Portland, OR to walk dogs and fill that void. During my time at the humane society I learned how to interact with dogs and even provide basic dog training regarding manners and leash management. I had to relearn a lot of techniques because the dogs that I was dealing with had traumatic experiences or had not been properly trained in the past. I feel that I would a good candidate as a dog walker because of my dog walking experience. I am willing to take any dog regardless of size, no dog is too big/too small or too young/too old. I am willing to work on behavior and improve the happiness of any dog that I encounter. I am happy to work alongside your dog and provide some basic leash training and steps towards better doggy manners. I feel that I would be a great walker (or additional caretaker) for your dog because of my prior experience with animals and my excited attitude to work with a variety of dogs.
