Our babies loved their vacation with Rick! They were so much more comfortable there then when we had previously boarded them at a nice boarder with suites and toddler beds. They came home that time stressed and took weeks to get back to their normal, this time with Rick they were back to their normal within 24 hours. They even showed us around Rick's house and backyard when we came to pick them up, it ...

We left our baby with Richard for 6 days while we were on vacation. We were tired of leaving her at kennels that are impersonal and don’t give the quality one on one care that we want for our dog. Richard and his wife are amazing!! They sent updates and pictures daily and loved her like she was theirs. We will not hesitate to have her go back to Richards place when we need a ...

When Richard watches your pet

+ APPEASING EVERYONE ISN'T EASY!!! (Sometimes it requires overlapping booking dates.) Previously, we watched only one owner's dog(s) at a time. By doing so, we were being forced to turn away booking requests due to scheduling conflicts. - - # Although we still prefer to watch only one family's dog(s) at a time, we may watch another family's dog(s) unless we have agreed to a private visit while we're watching yours. IF WE KNOW THE DOGS & BELIEVE THEY WILL BE ARE COMPATIBLE. (2 family / 3 dog max) - - # WE COULD JUST BE DISCREET, however take pride in being open, honest, dependable and flexible! There are times that we are required to turn away visitors that depend on us. (We don't enjoy letting them down) - - # REST ASSURED! We have never had a negative experience and don't plan to start now!!! We are asking everyone to TRUST OUR JUDGEMENT based on our years of experience & favorable record. WE TRULY APPRECIATE YOUR UNDERSTANDING & COOPERATION!!! (We have found that the vast majority of dogs actually enjoy the company. / IF NOT, we have gates throughout)
+ F/T Supervision / Companion
+ We prefer potty trained dogs (NO PUPPIES) approx. 75 lbs or less
+ I run a loose ship - Training &/or discipline are not my virtues (SAFETY, SECURITY & ENJOYABLE VISIT ARE)
+ Volunteered two years at APL (Animal Protective League)
+ Completed ROVER 101 sitter training & the AMERICAN RED CROSS Cat & Dog FIRST AID COURSES
+ Other than completing ROVER 101 & the ARC COURSE, I have no special training or skills other than years of ownership, experience, maturity & COMMON SENSE
+ Schedule a meet & greet and/or book us ASAP to reserve the date(s) leaving enough time to cancel for a full refund and find someone else if you feel that we are not a good fit!
+ PLAN AHEAD - BOOK EARLY! - We can only confirm our availability at the time of the inquiry. We get requests concerning availability. We confirm the open date(s). Then days/weeks later we are contacted to schedule a meet & greet or book it. In the meantime someone that has used us before skipped the formalities and booked the date(s), leaving everyone in an uncomfortable situation.
+ EXTENDED STAYS WELCOMED
+ Inevitably, we get last minute requests from desperate owners. We would like to accommodate; however we watch dogs because we enjoy the company. If we have a house full it BECOMES WORK.
+ WE ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED IN THE NE OUTSKIRTS OF SPRINGFIELD, DIRECTLY WEST OF I-55 (under a mile) MID-WAY BETWEEN EXIT 100B AND THE STATE FAIRGROUNDS. - MAIN THOROUGHFARES TO ALL OF THE TOURIST SITES, LODGING ETC...
