Very experienced, kind dog lover
Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Richard and I am a life-long dog owner and lover of all animals, but my everyday companion is a one year old yellow Lab looking mutt with endless energy who is my closest friend, so I have a extra-large soft spot in my heart for dogs. As far as qualifications go I have been doing dog sitting on and off since I was in high school, and im 33 now, so for about 20 years at this point. I have always been trustworthy and have always been someone that people who know me seem to think about right away when they need a dog and/or house sitter. I have a good general knowledge of dogs, and fair working knowledge of common ailments. I can administer medications if needed, and most important I believe is a good empathetic instinct to be able to recognize the subtle hints that let's you know something may be wrong. They can't talk so I believe in being very observant, I can't stand the idea of an animal suffering because of me being oblivious to their pain or discomfort. Other than that, I have some background in security and am very security conscious in general. Basically, people who know me especially like me for house sitting and the like because they know that in that situation their things will be protected as if they were my own, and that I take any affront to them as a personal affront to me. Please feel free to contact me with any questions! Thank you!!

Skills
A typical day
Mostly depends on the dog. Every dog is different and the things they're used to doing are different, so I pretty much just go with the flow and play it by ear. I am also good with skittish and untrusting dogs because I think I give off a very friendly, non-nervous calm energy that they respond well too. I also don't like raising my voice around them, something I've gotten very used to since my parents adopted an awesome Am-Staf Terrier, who, although he now weighs 90 pounds, starts shaking at even an intense discussion, poor guy...
