Your dog/s will just love it here!!

Pet care experience

We are Home of Bed and Biscuit, since 1996, in Tampa, caring for dogs in our home. The concept is to take in dogs that are socialized and well behaved, so that they do not need to be crated, replicating their own home environment. However, owner's crates will be used if so requested or if needed. The goal is to relieve the anxiety for both you and your pooch when you have to be separated! Oh, and it does, for you'll see , you'll be so much more relaxed knowing they are loving it here! Our Rover average price is $32. There are discounts available. Nevertheless, the rates are a bargain for what they get -TLC, in a safe and clean environment with lots of fun and exercise! (and a bargain for what you get- peace of mind and no guilt!!) Dogs need to be neutered unless they are puppies. Shots need to be up to date - must have flea and tick treatment and be bathed before they come. Upon visiting us you will see our property, looking like a spacious doggie park, with a serene lakeside view. The dogs will be running, playing or just bathing in the sun, feeling so free. Our doggie door allows them to come in and relax on comfy doggie beds or the community futon. Many feel so secure and comfortable that you'll see them on their backs with feet in the air!! Such a comforting sight. Once rested, then they'll start all over again, playing etc. Even though our professional backgounds are in counselling, our love is caring for these wonderful animals. It is simply our pay back for their love and loyalty to mankind. So it would be our privilege to care for your 4 legged family member/s! About this sitter: We have been open since 1996. Our professional backgrounds are in counseling and education. Fran also worked in the travel industry. We are both retired, but lead a very active lifestyle, playing tennis, ballroom dancing, yoga and traveling. Why I love dog sitting My mom had us give our first dog, Figaro, away when I was a child. I was broken hearted!! Hadn't had a dog again, until 30 years later and sure made up for it in 1996 when we first opened Home of Bed and Biscuit. It's been raining dogs ever since! :) Meet my pet Rascal, our boy, is a 7 years old Silky Terrier/Bishon mix, a real lover. Such a perfect host! About my yard Our property has a 4 ft. chain link fence. If your dog is a very high jumper and likes to go after squirrels and ducks, then this probably would not be suitable. However, they are most entertained within the property with the other doggie guests and ourselves.

Couldn’t ask for a better place for our pup! Blaze was completely depressed for a couple of days after we picked him up. I think he found his little pup paradise with Rich and Fran!

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced yard and our friendly dogs to keep your fur baby company. We can easily crate your dog if needed. We carefully screen your dog via phone, and then through a thorough meet and greet. Our home is large enough with multiple rooms and spaces so our dogs and guests have their own space to eat. On the rare occasion, for whatever reason, where we need to provide more secure space, we have multiple doors/access from the house to the yard and can keep a dog/or dogs separated. Again that is a rare situation and not in keeping with our expectation that dogs we accept are well socialized with no aggressive tendencies.

Information Rich and Fran C. would like to know about your pet

Dogs must have no aggressive tendencies to be our guest, for obvious reasons. This goes for any breed, large or small. All must visit first to see if it's a fit. Normally we will not take certain breeds which is from experience and our long time customer concerns. We love them all but have to first respect the safety of guests. This may seem hard to understand, but for our customer satisfaction and confidence we must be mindful. Your dog may be great, but if the breed is generally a concern, you are welcome to check with us if you like. Or, you might want to select a Rover sitter that can better meet your needs from the outset.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We don't take the dogs on walks because they get tons of exercise on our property throughout the day! Your dog's sleeping arrangement We provide comfy doggies beds all over, along with our couches and their very own community futon! Time I'll spend with your dog Most of the day and night. One or the other is usually home, but if we both are together, or have to both run an errand or activity, we may be out for as much as three hours. That has become the exception rather than the rule.
