There's nothing better than spending time with a dog. You can be having the worst day possible but the second your dog sees you, it's impossible not to crack a smile and join them in their happiness. That's all they want, to love and be loved. That's why we love dogs and wanted to become pet sitters! We are a couple (Amber & Ricky) and we're so excited to meet your dog! We previously were employed by a dog walking service as independent contractors. We worked there for two years, and enjoy our work so much that we were inspired to build our own business. We currently board/dog-sit dogs and go to an off-leash dog park for three hours monday-friday. We're so excited to build our own clients! A little behind each of us individually: Amber: I have loved animals since I was old enough to know what an animal was. At first I was interested in being an entomologist--I love bugs-- but ended up with dogs, after I heard the call of the wild. I worked at a veterinary clinic for almost 5 years and have a lot of medical knowledge on many species. I went to a high school for 4 years with a zoological/veterinary/agricultural magnet and immersed myself in animal sciences. I have raised everything from insects and arachnids to livestock and exotics. I am a one-stop-shop for medical, behavioral, and home care for dogs of all shapes and speeds. I am an avid lover of photographing my pack as well as other dogs at the park, and work with Ricky to capture the essence of our clients' dogs' personalities. Ricardo "Ricky": I'm a hobbyist photographer and enjoy taking and sending photos of my clients pets. I've been taking photos for Have a Nice Walk for a few months and I personally feel a client should get vibrant pictures of their pets enjoying their time out with their sitter. I respond quickly and communicate to all of my clients in a timely fashion. Above all when I pick up and drop off dogs I make sure everything is locked up and secured. You and your dog will love us because we're just like you! We both value providing what is best for our three personal dogs. Our dogs are our kids, and we treat them like the individuals they are. We care deeply for all animals, and want to open our home and hearts to other pups that need a home away from home!

Once again Ricardo and Amber saved the day! We were able to take our long overdue honeymoon last week (10 days) and they made us feel completely comfortable leaving the states. Our Cooper loves their home and the other dogs they house to pieces! We are so lucky to be able to count on Ricardo and Amber for incredible loving care for our fur baby!
Ricardo and Amber are lifesavers. Our pup just loves them and always comes home happy and tuckered out.
I’m not one to write negative reviews but this time I have to bc I am concerned. My boxer has been to Amber and Ricardo before and I can tell he had fun because he loves other dogs and going to the park. However, this time he came back EMACIATED! I literally could see every single bone in his body protruding out! From his entire spinal cord to hip bones and ribs! My dog may be a finicky eater however, when I brought him back I have never seen him scarf down his food like that. I fed him 5 meals when I normally only feed him 2 and he scarfed down EVERY MEAL which clearly means he was not fed/nor had access to food. I did ask them about if he was fed regularly however their response just didn’t add up. I will not be going back here because I am concerned that my dog is not being fed properly or just being overlooked since they watch like 15 dogs at a time.
I know my dogs were content and well cared for, because they were happy and calm when I picked them up.

We just ask for a meet and greet for each client because we have three pups of our own and they're all very well socialized. If a pup has some socialization cues that need to be worked out (anxiety or nervousness etc.) then as trainers we try the approach we feel is going to transition a pup from "I don't know, I'm kinda scared..." to "These guys are alright by me. Let's play!" We also would like to know if your pet has any special needs, if we can do anything unique to accommodate them, and what your expectations are for the stay.
A typical day
We walk dogs at Laurel Canyon dog park. We walk a group of dogs for three hours from 10-1 Monday - Friday. All rover pups are free to tag along and enjoy an off leash experience at the dog park or our back yard! We also will give them 1:1 attention.
