Pet care experience
Besides helping raise my family's Yorkie, I was a dog walker for a spell in Chicago, and have plenty of experiencing walking dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. Many of the dogs I've walked were recent rescues (including Scout, a German Shepherd), and became personal projects of mine as I helped them acclimate to their new homes. I've walked and sat multiple dogs at once at both my own home and at their owners' homes. My apartment is peaceful and quiet, so a good fit for dogs that need a relaxed environment. I work from home during the day, so the dogs I watch won't be ever be alone for long stretches. Walking them is an important way for me to get some extra exercise and take a break from my day job. Sometimes I need a walk as much as they do. Another plus: I love taking photos of the dogs I take care of, and you can bet that I'll send you lots of great, professional shots of your dogs during their stay. (Check out my gallery for samples.) I take the job very seriously, and understand the trust that clients place in me to take care of their pets.

Ricardo did a great job taking care of my dog. She is a recent rescue and can get nervous, but he was very understanding and helped her feel comfortable. He also sent some great pictures throughout the day. Would definitely ask him to look after her again!
Ricardo was fantastic with Hamilton and very accommodating throughout the whole process! He kept us updated with pictures and after meeting with him prior to our last minute trip, we felt completely comfortable entrusting our pup with him. I look forward to using Ricardo in the future!
We were very happy with Ricardo. Maddy takes a little time to warm up to new people and Ricardo was so patient and calm. Every day he kept us up to date with her stay with emails and pictures. We would highly recommend Ricardo.
Ricardo worked for my pet care company in Chicago for almost a year in 2016-2017. He was absolutely wonderful with the dogs, they all loved him, so did we! We were so sad to lose him when he moved. I couldn't recommend him enough to care for your fur kids!

I really like to know a dog's level of potty training. This is important for puppies, but its also important for senior dogs, who often take the "close enough" approach to pee pads, in my experience. I also like to get a sense of how reactive they are with other dogs, which lets me know how careful to be around any we see on our walks (though usually I err on the side of avoiding other dog unless we're working on socializing). Also important to know your preferred eating and walking schedule, which I will always follow. Last, I'm always happy to help out with any commands that you're working on with your dog.
A typical day
My walks are usually long ones. When a dog's behaving well, I like to take them to the local pet store to get a treat.
