Couple who love dogs and Home 24/7!

Pet care experience

Hello! Our names are Rhuaraidh (Rory) and Moira, and we are a couple with a love for dogs. We are 31 and 32 years old. We put our four legged friends above anything else when they are in our care (even a pupcake near or on their birthday!) Our empathy makes us treat every dog like they're our own, and ensuring their well-being is at the heart of everything we do. We love nothing more than watching dogs run around and burn off all that energy and have sleepy cuddles at the end of the day. We are meticulous in ensuring we have note of everything your dog needs. From medication, allergies, likes, and dislikes. We are particularly experienced with anxious dogs and making sure they're comfortable.

I cannot sing the praises of Rhuaraidh and Moira enough! Even though Alfie only stayed over for one night we could tell right away he was in great hands. Everything about this short stay put Alfie’s needs first and we loved how he was advocated for and accommodated from walks to bedtime- it was all brilliant! I also loved getting updates of how he was enjoying his time as this was something we hadn’t had from other sitters in the past and it really put our minds at ease to know he was getting the perfect balance of fuss and chill time. I just know Alfie will be ecstatic when it comes time for his next stay!

Rory and moira were amazing with rosco. He settled so well and had the best time. Loved all the updates with pictures and videos. We will definitely be using them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. Thank you both!!

Rory and Moira really went above and beyond to help our dog Angus settle in a new space. They have a really good understanding of dog behaviours/signs of stress and anxiety. They have proven to be gentle and kind. Communication was amazing with the updates we received. Angus loved his wee holiday and can't wait to visit again 💚

Safety, trust & environment

We have a fenced garden, in which they can always be supervised if needed! We live in an area that has plenty of lovely country parks and also some large open areas for them to run around. We have done a lot of research in advocating for dogs. As mentioned previously we have experience with anxious dogs and always ensure that they feel safe with us. There will always be someone home, which we both love as working from home is always more fun with dogs. However for times that we do need to be out (no longer than stated by the owner!) we have a pet camera set up to keep an eye on them. There is a spare armchair in our living room which dogs are welcome to use although they'll probably end up sitting between us on the sofa! We also have a car dog seatbelt for secure travel to pick dogs up and to take them to fun places. This just attaches to their collar or harness and can be adjusted so that they are comfortable. Our back seat also has a cover for cleanliness and protection to stop dogs from coming into the front seats.

Information Rhuaraidh G. would like to know about your pet

Before we care for your dog, we would like to know important personal attributes such as their likes and dislikes. We have had dogs that hate the noise of a hair dryer or any kids on a scooter. All of these are taken very seriously. To avoid unnecessary stress we do simple things such as we avoid going on walks during times where kids going to and from school or go to an area which will not be affected. Any routines such as needing out for the toilet before bed, needing fed at certain times, any medications required (we have experience in this!) Any command words that work better. We have a furry friend who won't eat till you say "bon appetit!" Please note we will not walk your pet off leash in public areas. We sometimes take dogs to the enclosed running fields specifically for dogs and this is the only exception. All of these are noted and followed as per your request.

A typical day

We absolutely adore big walks. We've always said to each other there is nothing better than letting a dog run it's tail off and being shattered by the end of it. We have plenty of balls and toys for the dog to play with, including mental enrichment items such as licky matts and Kong cones! Of course if you would rather any of these were not used they will be out of sight. If your dog gets mucky paws, we will always give them a wipe before return. However for a small fee we are happy to wash and dry. Please note shampoo and towel will need to be provided.

My partner works from home so the dogs will never be left on their own while in our care. She works a fully flexible job so isn’t tied to calls or a strict schedule so if attention is needed she can provide it. I work from home occasionally also! Neither of us work weekends so we will both be around to take your dog on walks and care for it. We have no children or pets of our own so we have endless amounts of love to give dogs. We also love taking photos of your dog and giving you regular updates (if you want!) so that you have peace of mind that your four legged family member is having the best time.
