Pet care experience
I love dogs! They have been a part of my family ever since I was a child and I couldn't imagine a life without them. My husband and I have two dogs. A Shepherd mix rescue named Mookie and a Shiz-Tzu named Edith Bunker. We absolutely adore these two. Mookie is a goofy, gentle boy and Edith is a sweetheart who loves to cuddle. Both of them love making new dog friends, going to the dog park and going on all kinds of adventures. We are excited for your dog to stay with us and join us on our adventures! We also have a rescue cat who acts very much like a dog. He, Mookie and Edith are buddies and he loves meeting other pups. These threw hold such a special place in my heart and it is so important that they are in good hands when they cannot travel with us. I know what that's like and how much peace it brings to know that they are being well taken care of at home or a home away from home. They are part of the family after all! I will care for your dog as if they were my own. I am very passionate about all pups having a happy and safe home. I have volunteered with local rescues and have also been a foster for dogs in the past. (Edith was a dog we were fostering and couldn’t resist forever homing). I've had a lot of experience caring for dogs with health conditions and special needs. I am very comfortable administering medication or adhering to strict diet restrictions. I also have training experience. I know a lot about dog first aid and what to do in emergency situations. Also, I will soon be certified for pet cpr. It's very important that your dog feels close to home when they are with me. I will send you as many updates as you like and more photos/videos than you may know what to do with!

Was lucky to get to have Rhonda check in on our Zen nun of a McNab and our LabraPitaSaurus. She showed on time, managed a couple of things to get in/out of our house, took great pics of our critters. She met them beforehand, both loved her and Rhonda clearly knew how to build a relationship with them. Will definitely continue to use her services, with gratitude.
It's true, Rhonda's the real deal. She's so easy to work with and accomadating. Most importantly, she took such good care of our pups while we were away. So much so that when we got home, they greeted us calmly instead of the usual "thank god, you're home" insanity. We will definitely ask for Rhonda's help with our dogs again. She's lovely and our dogs think so too!

I love all breeds of dogs and all ages. I would love to hear about your dog's personality and how they interact with other dogs (since I have my own here). I would also really love to hear any special quirks that your dog may have. For example if there is a certain sound that spooks them or that they love to carry around your shoe. I would love to know what your dog's favorite things are and also the things they don't like. Just because he/she is away from home doesn't mean they should have to be without their favorites! I have healthy treats, all kinds of toys and a choice of fun things we can do depending on what they like. Also if your dog has any allergies, health conditions or needs medication so I can be prepared to care for them accordingly when they arrive!
A typical day
If your dog likes the dog park we can definitely go while they are here. I go to a few different dog parks, so if you have a regular place, we are happy to go there and meet with your pup's other dog friends as well. I also occasionally make it to the dog beach in Long Beach or Huntington. If your dog is here over the weekend, this is definitely something we can do!! We will also go for as long or short of a walk as needed around the neighborhood and go out for bathroom breaks in the yard often. We will play with lots of toys and do some snuggling together on the couch! Your dog is welcome to be wherever he or she likes in our home. Furniture is not off limits. Our pups are welcome to sleep on the bed and Your dog is welcome to the same! Also, I work from home most of the time. This means that when your dog is here for boarding or day care, I will be with them almost the entire time. They will get lots of attention and love!
