40 years of dog training experience

Pet care experience

I have had dogs my whole life. My first dog was a Golden Retriever. I trained him all the way through Search and rescue. All other dogs I have owned have been trained at a minimum of CGC (Canine Good Citizen) which basically means they mind very well and the behave in private as well as public. I've had both Show dogs and Obiedience dogs. I’ve always had a Golden Retrievers with a Labador, German Shepard, Collie and a few Pugs thrown in along with cats, large birds, reptiles, three horses, rabbits, reptiles and rodents. I've always watched what my dogs ate and exercised them. I've been watching and training dog for friends and family and clients for 40+ years. I love all animals and I'm sure I would love yours too. I retired so I could follow my dream of watching animals on a full time basis.

Rhonda, who goes by Mickie, was recommended to us by our breeder as a dog sitter, She took loving care sitting for our Golden Retriever, Lola. She worked with Lola on walking and basic commands. She also gave us great tips in helping us train and care for Lola. She has a lot of experience working with all kinds of dogs and really loves working with them. We recommend her for sitting or training.

Hello! Rhonda Foster is an animal lover by nature. When she stayed at our home with our elderly dog, she showered him with love and affection. We knew that she would because she spent time with him before we were scheduled to leave and really got to know him and he got to know her which is a must for Rhonda. We felt great about leaving Harry for a week with Rhonda living here! She stayed in touch with us while we were gone to let us know that our Dachshound was getting his meds and filling us in on his condition and just relieving any anxiety we had about leaving him. I highly recommend Rhonda as a pet sitter!!

Bailey loves when Rhonda comes to stay with her. Bailey is very energetic and wants to play all the time, which requires a-lot of special attention. We can go on vacation without an ounce of worry and come back to a happy, well cared for dog!

We have used Rhonda quite a few times and every time we have come home to a very happy dog, He absolutely loves her and we do too! I honestly don’t think he misses us at all when she’s here.. We have decided we will not use anyone else when we have to leave him at home. I want to also mention that we always come home to NO dishes in the sink, everything picked up and in its place, plus the bed is stripped of the linens and in the washer. She is very responsible and a pleasure to have in our home.

I will be there 24/7 except for emergencies for the pets, buying groceries on long jobs and I would discuss with you ahead of time if I have a doctor or dentist appointment that I'm unable to change. I feel I'm being paid to watch and be responsible for your animals and if I'm not there I'm not doing my job. I will always treat your babies as I do mine. If they are outside I'm outside, if they are inside I'm inside. I will follow any routines and rules that you have.

Information Rhonda F. would like to know about your pet

I have four main questions. Is this dog aggressive towards adults or children? Is this dog aggressive towards other animals? Is this dog leash trained with a proper dog collar? Also is your dog in heat This would definitely limit any walks? Because I have trained dogs most of my life if your dog has any issues we can discuss them and hopefully correct them while you are gone and how you can follow through with any additional training. Walking on a leash is very important to me. I don't like being pulled and I don't imagine you do either. This is something I would very much enjoy changing for you.

A typical day

I love to play with animals whether that’s playing ball, chasing, or tug of war. I feel it’s very important to mentally challenge dogs to wear them out. I like to play a game I learned in search and rescue which I call find it. We can either use a favorite toy or treats. 30 minutes of this is better than a 2 mile walk. Although I love the walks as well. For walks, I like to stay in your neighborhood. I've ran into problems in crowded areas not because of the dog I'm walking but from people who don't know what they are doing or who have aggressive dogs and don't know how to handle them. This is the same reason I'm not in favor of dog parks. I don't know what other dogs are going to do and they have families that feel it's more your problem than theirs.
