Rhi's Responsible Dog Sitting

Pet care experience

Hello All! My name is Rhiannon, or just Rhi for short. I am very excited and proud to offer this business to those looking for pet care while they are away. Just to start things off, I would like to offer a little bit about myself. I am 27 years old, and just graduated with my Bachelor's degree in Bioarchaeology from the University of South Florida. I am currently looking to further my education with a Master's program. I have owned a variety of different dogs over the course of my life which have ranged from small to vary large Each of my dogs has offered me a unique caretaking experience so I have a variety of skills when it comes to giving pets the love, care, and attention they need. I have handled dogs from puppies to old age, and have had a few who have been sick and needed surgery. I am excellent at post-surgery care. My good family friend has been a vet for over 35 years now and when my pup was sick post-surgery he gave me personal training on how to care for them and administer medicine. As of right now I am the caretaker of a Corgi, Shi-poo, an Australian Shepherd, two cats (Tuxedo and a Hemingway), and an Amazon Parrot. I feel very comfortable taking care of other animals such as cats as I have also had cats my entire life, along with dogs. If you want to know more about my skills as a caretaker please message me. At the moment, my schedule is very open. I am available to work for you any and every day of the week, Monday-Sunday. The hours are completely open as I am trying to make dog sitting a full-time career because caring for animals is what I love most in life. I am doing this for the sheer love of animals, and so if someone needs to possibly work out their price to be a bit more affordable I will work with them. Thank you, and I hope to chat with you soon! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to send me a message!

It's always stressful for me to have someone take care of our dogs when we're out of town but having Rhiannon take care of our them was a great experience. She would text me every day to let me know how they were doing and offered to take pictures if I wanted. Just knowing she was coming to the house a few times a day helped me to relax and enjoy my vacation. I highly recommend her and will be using her again soon!

She communicated well before and after the visit. My pup is very timid around new faces and she warmed up to her quickly. My pups and I look forward to the next visit. Thank you so much Rhiannon.

Information Rhiannon S. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any specific breed preferences. However, I ask every client that I sit for whether or not the dog has been left alone with strangers int he past. If so, how has he reacted to those strangers? How does he react to strangers on the street? My reason for asking is because your dog knows you, knows your family, and knows your friend. I have found, even with my own pooch, that dogs will react differently strangers when they are with their owner and when they are without. This absolutely does not deter me from sitting, however, unless the dog has a history of aggression (such as biting). It is very understandable for a dog to be protective of his home turf, especially when a stranger is entering their house seemingly uninvited. They are merely doing their job! So, from there I will ask the client how to make the dog feel more comfortable with my presence in the house. How can I make him/her relax and see me as a friendly face?

A typical day

I always take dogs for long, enjoyable walks to all of their favorite places! Whether that be a dog park or just down the side walk I try to make it as fun and relaxing as possible for the pup. I also love playing with dogs. My own Corgi and I always go out to the beach, to the park for me to throw his favorite tennis ball, or just go for a leisurely drive. When pet sitting, I always ask my clients what their dog's favorite activities are and I will promise to adhere to those activities as much as possible. I am very dedicated to creating a fun and happy environment for your pets while you are away.
