Pet care experience
I understand and recognize how difficult it can be to trust another human to care for your family members and I graciously accept that role to make sure your fur babies are happy and appreciated until you return. I've always had a bond with animals that couldn't be explained; a natural relationship is built upon meeting your family pet, and mutual respect is made. I've always had a special knack for training pups and very truly believe in positive dog training and positive reinforcement, as opposed to any sort of dominance training. I've been working with animals for a couple of decades. I've grown up with Shelties, Huskies, Shepards, and Rottweilers, Varying breeds of cats, and Hamsters, Rabbits, and Gerbils. I appreciate the differences that all animals bring to the table with their wide array of personalities. Belly rubs? ✔ Ear scratches? ✔ Training? ✔ Coat brushings? ✔ Let me know what you need. I'm here to make life easier!

Renee is great! Leaves the house better than how she found it, our pups love her, and she takes care of the extras (feed the fish, bring in mail, etc.) We've had 3 house sitters from Rover, and Renee is our number one go-to. And the others aren't bad - they're fabulous too. So next time we go, Renee gets first call!

I priortize your pets normal schedule when they are in my care. Some dogs experience elevated stress when their owners are away (I'm looking at you Pandemic Puppies!!), so the more "normal" everything else is, the more comfortable the animals typically are. That being said, there is always flexibility that is needed by animals, owners, AND myself to make your stay, a happy one! Message me to set up a meet & greet to meet me in person, so I can meet your pets/furbabes and see if it's a good fit 💖

I like to know about personality. High or low maintenance, high or low activity requirements, high or low energy, any known behavioral issues, any reactivities/triggers (other dogs, cats, cars), separation anxieties. All answers are fine. It just helps me prepare for your animal the best!
A typical day
We live in a great neighborhood with wonderful access to green areas. I love to take my dog to the local parks and let them get all the smells in. Did you know that letting your dog smell can provide mental stimulus that is as effective as physical exhaustion? I think it's really important to let dogs be dogs, and not just constantly obedient. Another way to have this mental stimulation is by training and working for reward (whatever that means to your specific dog), so I also like to incorporate that into our day. POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT TRAINING ONLY <3 No prong collars, e-collars, shocks, or discipline. (I will use prong collars if its what you currently use, but I encourage you to check out your options!) Listen to science and spread the love.
