Animals truly are my life! I learned to walk by holding onto the fur of my Border Collie and have never let go since. I have worked with rescue agencies in several states, including California, Utah, Colorado and Idaho, adopting, fostering, rehabilitating, training and placing dogs, cats and horses. I've written articles for national magazines on canine behavior, training and socialization. I formerly ran my own daycare, boarding and training business, Reining Cats and Dogs in Idaho. In 2009 I was forced to close my business while I attended extensive rehabilitation in Las Vegas after suffering a life threatening illness. My professional affiliations have included the International Association of Canine Professionals, the Pet Care Services Association, the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants and the AKC as a Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator. In 2008, I was recognized for my efforts by the Humane Society of the United States, being invited to represent the state of Idaho at the Taking Action for Animals Conference in Washington, DC. In 2009 I was truly honored to receive the "American Red Cross Real Hero Award" for my efforts in Animal Rescue.
