Greetings, fellow animal lovers! I am an enthusiastic, committed, and responsible animal caregiver with a lifelong love of dogs, cats, and creatures of all kinds. I have gained a lot of experience over the years in animal care, and think I would make a great playmate and companion for your dog, cat, lizard, bird, or rodent. I spent fourteen months as a full-time employee of Uptown Girls Pet Services in New Orleans, Louisiana, working as a dog walker and overnight pet sitter. In this environment, I devoted myself fully to making sure each animal on my schedule was given optimum care. This job demanded an attunement to animal behavior as well as great communication skills with pet owners. My duties consisted of cleaning up after animals (I am not scared off by messes), administering medications and meals, providing animals with companionship, playtime, and exercise. I worked with animals of all ages, temperaments, and sizes. I have no problems handling large dogs, dogs with health problems, or dogs that are still in early stages of training (i.e. super energetic puppies!). I always strive to be punctual and dependable. During my time in New Orleans, I also worked part-time in a canine daycare and boarding facility as a dog attendant, My duties consisted of overseeing dog playrooms, making sure the environment was clean and safe for animals to play in, performing daily feedings, and walking dogs around the property. In addition, from August 2009 through March 2010, I worked in an Animal Hospital as a kennel caregiver. I was in charge of caring for all the boarding animals (both cats and dogs), as many as thirty animals all together. My duties included walking, feeding, and cleaning all the cages along with occasional bathing. During the following year, I lived abroad, where I developed my own pet sitting service. I boarded and cared for several regular clients who all said their animals seemed particularly calm and contented after their stays with me. I feel that I have a very intuitive understanding of dogs and work well with them. I am great at meeting the individual needs of clients and their pets, a quality that requires good listening and adaptability. In short, I am an excellent and enthusiastic caregiver and adore working with animals. I generally have an upbeat attitude, good attention to detail, and attempt to always maintain a pleasant professionalism with a sense of humor and a willingness to learn. I’m a good problem-solver, tend to be calm and level-headed, and very positive. I work well with both people and animals of various ages and backgrounds. I have my own car and valid driver’s license. I am happy to travel around the city, and have flexible availability for overnights, holidays, and even last minute visits.
