Pet care experience
I am very conscientious and like dogs. I always had a dog while growing up, but I don't have one now because I feel it is unfair for the animal to have one in the city if you have to be away at work all day. I live in a dog-friendly residential neighborhood so there are plenty of places to walk the dog---the streets are quiet and not too much traffic. There is also a large park not too far away which I go to on nice days and could take the dog to. Also my apartment is pretty big and there is plenty of room for your dog to walk about. I also don't mind if your dog gets up on the couch with me (or by himself)---I don't have any problems with him being comfortable. PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE PROFILE. There are some dogs I am unable to host. Thanks!

Thank you so much for taking care of our dog!
Renald is great! Would leave my dog again!
Flexible and kind - thank you!
Our Kelly had the best stay with Renald in September. Kelly was so well taken care of and had plenty of walks and play time. It was really great to get regular updates while we were traveling it meant a lot to us and I know she’s looking forward to her next stay already. Thank you!

I treat your dogs as though they're my own. They have the run of the apartment, can lounge on the sofa, and sleep with me if they want to. I will also strictly maintain any dietary restrictions you need for your dog.

Information Renald I. would like to know about your pet
THE FOLLOWING IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION: I am unable to host: 1. Pit bulls, Rottweilers, or Dobermans. 2. Dogs over 60lbs. (Exceptions may be made for sweet Goldens or Labradors) 3. Unneutered males 4. Aggressive dogs 5. Dogs that bark a lot (I live in an apartment and have to think of my neighbors) 6. Dogs which are not leash trained and resist following. 7. Dogs which are not housebroken. In my experience dogs that come from houses and are used to having yards to run around in do not do well in apartments--they get frustrated at that kind of confinement. Also older dogs find it stressful to find themselves suddenly out of their usual environment, and for them I suggest sitting or a drop in visit rather than boarding. I would consider this if you are in the Rego Park or nearby areas. Also, please be able to provide a contact phone number in case of an emergency and which will be available to me even if you are out of town or cannot answer your phone, not a vet but a friend or family member.
A typical day
I would take your dog to the park on nice days and spend an hour there with him or her, in addition to regular potty breaks. Please note that I prefer to board your pet for no more than one week at a time, which may include weekends.

Now that I'm retired I have time on my hands. I will take care of your dog as though it is my own, and he or she will have no restrictions in my apartment--the couch, the bed, wherever he wants to lounge is fine with me!
