I can be your pups BFF

Pet care experience

I have an unspoken connection with dogs! We share a kind of energy together, as we both have a real lust for life! Not to mention that we have kindred, friendly spirits and love to give to others. That’s why I became a dog sitter: to make sure that pups and owners alike have peace of mind at all times. Being able to give back to my community and put a smile on a dog’s face all at the same time is a dream come true for me. In addition to my experience as a dog sitter, I’ve also learned a lot about pups through being an owner. I’ve had the pleasure of owning several different dogs, which was always a very rewarding experience. I learned so much about the individual needs of a dog and how unique each one of them is. I am currently the puppy parent of Domino, a fun-loving Shih Tzu. I adopted Domino from an emergency animal clinic when he was not in the best of shape. He needed daily oral medication and an infinite amount of love. I nursed him back to health, and he’s been the much adored pup my family and friends all know and love! With that said, I’m very familiar with pups that have special needs, and I’m always willing to help out wherever possible. One of the best things about me as a sitter is that I'm home full time! I'm a full time dog sitter and walker, so dogs occupy my every waking moment! That means that I’m a good pup that is used to having a human presence around them during the day, or ones that would prefer not to be alone while their owner is away. I also take online classes to become a professional dog trainer, so every stay for me is a learning experience. With my very flexible schedule I can attend to your pup as long as you may need me. Your pup will get the love and attention only someone with a very open and flexible schedule can give! With that in mind, I treat all my furry clients as if they were my own family. That means: with parent-approved treats, snuggles, and frequent updates with the pup’s parents. Updates will be sent with regularity and always with accompanying pictures so you can see just how much fun your pup and I are having together! I strive to make both animal and human clients as comfortable as possible with my quality of care. I'm very cleanly & hygienic with homes and animals, I'm punctual, responsible, and most importantly caring and intuitive to my furry client’s needs. Going above and beyond is the name of my game, so I’m always happy to go the extra mile to make a pup and their owner as happy as can be.

Left our pups with Rena for the weekend and of course she was great with them per usual! She gave us updates each day and it was great not worrying if they were being taken care of. Rena's dog, Donimo, has a nice, chill temperament and is a great influence for our pups. Thanks Rena!

Rena was great with sitting our pups while we were away. She gave us updates with pictures and when we got them back, they were happy, and pouty, as they missed Rena and her pup. She's confident with them and she really knows how to handle herself. Thanks Rena!!

Rena Lopez is an amazing dog walker/sitter. She’s cared my dog as if he is her own child. She loves all kinds of animals but she especially loves dogs. She’s walked my dog every day for the last 5 years. She’s even baby sat my dog over the weekend and he doesn’t want to leave her house after. He has so much fun with her and her dog that my house seems boring after. She’s a kind and caring person and loves all animals.

Rena has been nothing but supportive and loving with my fur child. I wouldn't ask for a better person to take care of my baby while I'm away. She not only have the love for animals but the knowledge and tools she eightfold need to take care of anyone's for babies. I'm so glad to have met rena in my time of need. I would recommend her to everyone I come by!

Information Rena L. would like to know about your pet

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? Is your dog spayed/neutered? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?

A typical day

I live in a spacious apartment ideal for small-to-medium-sized dogs as well as puppies. My home will be a home away from home for any furry visitor! There are a few fun puzzle Kong toys, tugging ropes, and plenty of squeaky toys to play with. My own pup, Domino, is always available for playtime as well! Near me is a great park for a fun game of fetch, tag or just to enjoy the weather. It's only a couple of blocks away, so we’ll be able to head there any time. At the park, depending on the pup, we could walk some more, socialize with some friendly canines, play some fetch, Frisbee, or just relax on the grass and drink a bowl of refreshing water. Nevertheless, I also know that all dogs are different. If a particular pup is shy I try to be considerate of their feelings and give them a moment to warm up to me, with calm soothing words, respective space, and delicious treats. I find even the most shy of pups have warmed up to my quite easily. If the pup is a social butterfly, let the games begin! Pull out those squeaky toys and running shoes cause we are about to have some fun! I try to find the right balance for all my clients, and treat every pup with the respect they deserve.
