We always had pets growing up. Living with animals is part of a full and healthy life in my opinion. I believe in positive reinforcement training and giving a dog clear and consistent messages. I've had my own dogs for 30 years and some have had special needs. I'm especially fond of seniors. I've been involved with dog rescue, transport, foster, and placement for many years. I have also cared for cats, mice, fish, horses, and snakes and rabbits. All creatures deserve love, nourishment, and a safe environment. I am an excellent communicator, trustworthy, caring, and will give your pets the attention they deserve while you are away. My maturity and attention to detail along with my experience with and love for animals are assets. This is not just a job to me; it's a way to get paid doing what I love. My goal is to earn your trust and theirs so that everyone feels at ease and has a good time...you AND your pets. I have a pretty flexible schedule. I work from home part-time in my own business (which is portable). I'm available for drop-in's, walks and overnights in your home. I'm happy to also bring in mail and water plants while I'm there. I don't currently do any pet sitting in my own home. In your home, I follow whatever protocols you have in place and would notify you if there was a danger present. Obviously, dogs are walked on leash, and pets are not given any food beyond what my client supplies and any approved training treats. Changes in behavior, food or water consumption, etc., are reported to the client immediately. I also request a list of emergency contact numbers including the family vet. I like to do a thorough meet and great to be clear on acceptable forms of play/ways your pet likes to interact, things to avoid, any furniture that is off-limits, any medications that are to be given, etc. My whole aim is your pet's comfort and safety.
