Pet care experience
I’ve always been passionate about working with dogs and cats, I grew up with six dogs and two cats. I started volunteering with shelter dogs, mostly bully breeds, in high school and continued through college. Now I’ve been a Foster Coordinator for a local rescue and have worked with over 100 dogs & their fosters in the past two years. I also foster animals on my own time - I’ve fostered 10 dogs and 10 cats so far! I’ve personally raised and trained several puppies, and have cared for a huge range of dogs - from reactive Pit Bulls, energetic Labs, to fearful terriers. I attended a Pet First Aid course in 2022 and am certified in emergency pet First Aid, as well as CPR certified for both dogs and cats. I have experience with a wide range of medical conditions (epilepsy, cancer, liver disease, infections, injuries, etc.) and am comfortable administering medications. You can feel safe knowing I am prepared and trained for medical emergencies (although I hope I never have to use these skills). I think caring for dogs and cats properly requires a range of knowledge, not just simply a love for pets (although that’s important too!) I have my own dog and build my schedule around providing him adequate exercise and training so that his needs are met each day, so I understand you want the best for your dog! I also have an adult cat, as well as a medley of foster kittens. I will always gather as much information as possible before caring for a pet - no detail is too small! I use positive reinforcement techniques and am adept at reading animal body language. I know when a dog is scared or uncomfortable and work with them within their limits - whether that’s not wanting to be pet or touched, or wanting to avoid all other dogs on a walk. I know how hard it is to trust someone with your dog/cat, so I treat them as my own!
Reviews
Regina did such a great job taking care of our shy and timid and very high maintenance cat over a holiday weekend. She was very communicative and we highly recommend her! :)
Great cat sitter, my Loki loves her. Very in tune with what he needed. Left apartment looking good, all of the cat stuff in good condition. Very responsive with great pictures of a very happy cat! Will not only hire again but will definitely recommend!
All aces for Regina! Reliable and caring — our dog is in great hands.
We have worked with Regina in the past and will continue to hopefully do so because she is very reliable and caring! She leaves informative daily notes and pictures which helps us feel more at ease when we are away from our cat. I also feel comfortable leaving special instructions for his meals which is important when you have a senior cat. We highly recommend her!

Safety, trust & environment
When walking or caring for a pet, they are my main priority and I pay full attention the entire time they’re with me - I know it only takes a few seconds for something to happen, like they snatch a chicken bone off the sidewalk! I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR certified for dogs and cats. Please make sure your vet info is up to date in case of emergency.
Information Regina G. would like to know about your pet
I’d love to learn anything and everything about your pet! That’s the best way to set them up for success. I’d love to know anything that you’re currently working on in terms of training, that way I can continue to reinforce it during their time with me.
A typical day
I take my own dog to the park and hiking trails daily, so I know how important exercise is for a dog’s wellbeing and happiness. I’m willing to go on runs, play fetch, tug, do any training activities, etc. I also know the importance of play for cats, so if your kitty has a favorite wand toy and likes to play, I will be sure to include that in any visit!

Availability
I’m currently working from home full time, and have a fairly flexible schedule so can tailor it to your pet’s individual needs! I can do shorter walks or drop in visits (30 minutes) during the afternoons, and longer walks (1 hour) after work around 4pm.
